Yes Mary, I too believe Elizabeth is sincere in saying she's not running. I also believe she can be just as sincere if and when she changes her mind... InAbLuEsTaTe May 2015 #16

I'm confused. I agree she would make a great president but I believe she is very sincere in her decision not to run.

a Senate race is confined to the State level.

Not that being a Senator can't IMPACT the country as a whole. But, obviously, the President of the United States has a MUCH bigger impact. That's all I was sayin.

white/white one. I admit electorally it's probably not a problem, given that out of 44 sets of Pres/VPs, we've had 1/88th non-white representation, but I don't want our fellow travelers for equality to feel their needs aren't being truly represented.

Is the time ripe to create a Secretary/Department-level position on racial affairs? Someone with a staff that works on nothing but vetting proposed legislation and policy for potential racial disparities or issues, and works on altering existing racially unjust policies and institutions to render them more racially neutral? Put someone like Barbara Lee (my other potential VP pick) in as the first Secretary of this new department, and staff the rest of the department mostly with minorities who already are painfully aware of the existing racially unjust issues because they live them.

I like her but she did much worse in Texas than I thought she would. Just being honest. I'm still pushing for Julian Castro as VP - whether it's for Bernie or Hillary. Young, hispanic, VERY well liked here in TX. He's my candidate
