(19,537 posts)I wonder how many more politicians will be going out of their way to praise Bernie but do it in such a way that campaign donors can't use these "non-endorsements" as fuel to go after them in the campaign later in this world of McCutcheon/Citizen's United?

(2,968 posts)I get the feeling they don't want to enrage the Bernie supporters
just in case they end up running against the Repubs next November?

I think the big answer is that endorsements now, with the age we have of big campaign money is something we should look at with a big grain of salt now. It is a "weapon" and not so much of a real personal endorsement of a "person" for their past work/contact with that person like it might have been in the past when we didn't have big money polluting the elections and the resulting influence peddling the way we do now.
I think Warren and Biden are trying to show Bernie and his supporters where their heart is, even if the system has not let them do it as much as they'd like, especially with Biden, when he pushed through the bankruptcy bill, which I wonder if he regrets being tied to now. I think looking at Obama, Hillary, and Biden, that they all have areas of corrupt ties to Wall Street and big money, but with Biden, I think I see a heart inside of him that wishes he could be outside of that cocoon where I think Obama and Hillary are still willing occupants of that cocoon. I wonder if that's also why perhaps Elizabeth met with him too, if she feels the same way. The bankruptcy bill is still too much of a hurdle for me to support him in a presidential run, but I can see perhaps someone like him more having a good heart inside, even if he's prone to making mistakes.
