Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI just have to say that Bernie supporters on DU are an awesome bunch.
The intelligence and good values displayed by posters such as Armstead, Cali, Arcane, Beam Me Up Scottie, TM99, and so many others makes me think that the whole Bernie-supporters-are-evil meme is the opposite of the truth.

(1,668 posts)Bernie wasn't even running six months ago. The movement that has sprung up around him is a testament to Bernie Sanders and the large numbers of democrats who support real democratic values.

It's because we have such an awesome candidate in Bernie Sanders!!!

(31,493 posts)I still believe all political campaigns will become dirty at some point eventually. It would be cool if it were not that way but I've not yet seen that. I will say that I have not intentionally posted an op that was false but rather may have negligently not investigated the source enough. Of course I have used sarcastic snark responses. I have also intentionally looked for negative info sources to post in GDP. I have a desperation of sorts over Bernie winning the GE. If he doesn't win then I will give up on politics and will no longer pay attention because IMO the war is over and the oligarchy take over will be complete with no hope of ever regaining a Democracy that represents the common person. Because of that ...yes I will play dirty. There's nothing nice or proper or well manured about what the oligarchy is doing to our country.

(12,018 posts)My son, my friends, even my business colleagues in Los Angeles all say they're supporting Bernie. I thought I was being the rebel.
But I've made some of my DNC friends very unhappy. They invited me to a Hillary fundraiser and I had to confess I was a Bernie supporter. Painful conversation.

(12,882 posts)with HONEST HOPE for REAL change. Almost everything I've got two of, I've got crossed. Nostrils and ears - no can do. While the victory ribbon is a seemingly distant 14 months out, it'll go faster than we think. I really appreciate being amongst like minds as we strive for that ribbon. It HAS TO happen - a win for our man. If not, I want to try to do as LoOnix says - and turn my back on the whole fetid system. There'll be NO pulling it out once the money buys the scoreboard.

(534 posts)I feel the same way about turning my back if the unthinkable happens. We are at the brink. Mother Earth cannot tolerate our abuse any longer. She will end our reign of terror if we don't end it, by switching from fossil fuels to renewable energy, among other things. Immediately. Time's up.
Ditto the world economy. It's time to end poverty. Period. It would cost less than what the world spends on War in about one week. By instituting the Robin Hood Tax, worldwide, we could end poverty and probably stop much of the warfare that exists, too.
The time has come. The 21st Century is well under way. It's now or never. As Tracy Chapman sings, "If not now, when?"

(12,882 posts)All good points! Ma Nature will not take kindly to the folly-imbued course we're currently on. And when she gets wound up, the futile flailings of we wee parasites will be nothing against the greater raging biosphere. She will cleanse herself of us and go about finding an equilibrium once again.
