I don't know if I would be strong enough to live in Arizona and be liberal. My hat is off to you and all the other supporters!

We are informing voters of the info on the flyer in the OP, so they don't get confused, and subsequently fail to vote in the Presidential Preference Election on March 22nd. There are two primary elections in Arizona, the March 22nd Presidential Preference Election, in which we vote to nominate the established party candidate of our choice (Bernie!), and the August 30th primary election, which is not a primary in which we vote to nominate a candidate for president.

I would not be surprised if this system was created by ALEC. They have an extremely heavy presence in AZ. If you go to this website, you will see what I mean about how the process has been made confusing:

http://www.azsos.gov/elections/voting-election/election-information#ppe

http://www.democraticunderground.com/128040960

Basically, what I tell folks who express interest in voting for Bernie is this:

1) Register for early voting now. (I always carry voter registration forms with me in case someone wants to register immediately).

2) You must register as a Democrat in order to vote for Bernie in the Presidential Preference Election, in order to vote to nominate him for President.

3) If you register for early voting, your ballot for the Presidential Preference Election will be sent in the mail prior to the Presidential Primary Election.

4) Be sure to send in your ballot on time for it to be counted in the Presidential Preference Election. In Arizona, the March 22nd Presidential Preference Election is our Presidential primary election.

5) You must register as a Democrat and vote for Bernie in the Arizona Presidential Preference Election, if you wish to vote for Bernie in order to nominate him as the Democratic party candidate for President.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, azmom, I wanted to make a somewhat detailed post about this.

Flyer was bogus and contained misleading information. I agree, our process is confusing and it is by design.

he needed to register as a Democrat by February 22 in order to vote for Bernie on March 22nd.

He had no clue about this, and thanked me profusely for letting him know.

Arizona folks, please spread the word early and often, or we will end up losing a lot of independent votes for Bernie.
