"The more people get to know Bernie the better they like him and what he stands for." -Michael Briggs, Comms Director
Now for the rest of the country! Keep up the good work! We NEED this man in the White House!
Ignore the talking points and the useless pundits and political experts.
See how WRONG they've been so far?
Follow Bernie's example and just keep CLIMBING when they are nipping at your heels, don't wast time that could be spent spreading the word about one of the best candidates we've seen in a long time!
Let them waste all that Corporate Money on negative campaign dirty tricks. At least someone is being employed, even if it is just a temporary job! Lol!
But remember that when the 'People are United, they cannot be defeated'!
And as Bernie reminds us so often, don't let them divide us!

DUers have been a part of all this so we should be proud of how much this little place is doing to help get Bernie elected.
Omaha Steve eg, with his daily and weekly reminders to donate to Bernie's campaign has helped raise a few thousand dollars right here on DU.
And I just LOVE what DUer retrowire and his beautiful wife did yesterday.
He told us they was going to see Bernie in NC and live-blogged their trip starting with when they left their house, even sending us a pic of the Mexican Food they stopped to eat along the way. Lol!
Made us feel like we are all going to hear Bernie speak!
They were hoping if they got there early enough they might get up close enough to Bernie to get a selfie! Lol!
We were rooting for them!
So I just have to post these wonderful selfies of DUer retrowire and his lovely wife, with Bernie and HIS lovely wife!
With Bernie:
And with Bernie's wife:

(62,325 posts)People wondered if Bernie has any security at these events. Looks like regular police.
retrowire
(10,345 posts)there is more security than just that! I'll elaborate more later.

(3,544 posts)And this is after 5 months of campaigning. Wow, quite impressive. When the tornado eventually becomes that F5, the result will be the destruction of the GOP. I'm looking forward to it.

(41,600 posts)This weekend my sister and I are doing a river cleanup for our beautiful local river. We'll be joining hundreds of people to walk the bank to clean up garbage and debris. Our plan: don our Bernie t-shirts and buttons, I'll wear my Bernie bucket hat and take some Bernie fliers and spread some Bernie LOVE! I plan to park my car in a prominent spot too so people will see all my Bernie bumper stickers!
Hundreds of people do the river cleanup, so it's going to be the perfect opportunity to spread the word!
Go, Bernie!

(3,544 posts)The closing remarks brought me to tears. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE can hold a candle to him. He is the real McCoy, sent to us to save this country.

(11,945 posts)Do you have a link, or were you there in person? If there's a link, could you post it? Thanks!

(3,544 posts)I'm trying to find it elsewhere on the web, to show others.

(62,325 posts)I actually cried. Watching how Bernie can disagree with people, avoid any kind of pandering, yet, respect them as they did him.
Of all the speeches I've seen so far, this highlighted how sincere he is and the audience though they asked some touch questions where hugely respectful of him and he got a lot of applause. What a great teacher he is.
I don't have a link to the event yet, but I'm sure it will be on Utube and someone will post it.

(11,945 posts)I can't think of any other presidential candidate who could. Criminy, I'm getting teary reading your and SmittynMo's comments while thinking about what this man can do. He's so unassuming and yet so amazingly effective -- both at the same time. We are fortunate, the country is fortunate, maybe even the world is fortunate, for what this man is doing.
Hope the video/audio of the Liberty U. speech will be made available soon. Thanks!

(11,945 posts)Bernie walking into the belly of the beast -- or one of the bellies of one of the beasts, anyway.
Love his courage.

(11,945 posts)I see it's a transcript, which is good for getting all the ideas and his intention in writing it. If it comes out in video/audio, we can catch the emphasis and emotion -- and audience reaction, which should also be interesting.
You're very sharp-eyed; I appreciate it!
Now to read the transcript...

(11,945 posts)He made it sound more like a sermon than his usual speech. Very appropriate and probably more effective, too.

(11,945 posts)I'm so proud of Bernie. His courage alone would make him stand out from the field.
(sotto voce) -- I wonder if Hillary's advisers will be preparing her to deliver a speech to another Bible college/hotbed of conservatism?

(62,325 posts)and they were despite their disagreements, finding common ground where they could. It was moving. And you are right the man is so sincere, it just simply shines through and I believe he won some hearts there today.
