They used to have a hard time finding such outlets(because the country was moving on....)... but the GOP revolution of the 80's and especially the 90's changed that. (about face!) They flocked to them like an oasis.

My father was kinda a jerk... until he started listening to Limbaugh. Then he became a complete and obnoxious jerk.

... that the low-wattage intellects that constitute the Republican base wallow in a swamp of inchoate resentment and inbred malice where they welcome the verbal vomit from the luminaries on Pox News because if reinforces their already ingrained prejudices. Having a TV or radio personality express, and thus validate, their most hateful and misinformed opinions gives them license to to spew their vitriol even more loudly, and sometimes to take actions that they wouldn't have the sand for otherwise.

This is why I think scum like O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, et al. should be held at least partially responsible for crimes that are committed as a result of their venomous lies.

Mr. Sanders - who is one of my senators, by the way - very eloquently rips the flimsy mask of respectability off of these repulsive people to expose the face of pure, malevolent evil.

Here's hoping President Sanders will re-institute the Fairness Doctrine and thereby hamstring Roger Ailes and his marauding horde of rabid hyenas.

GO BERNIE!

I know where they get their “news” but WHY is the big question? When you hear BS your BS meter starts going off, right? When you hear something outrageous, you generally tend to start fact-checking before you freak out, correct? And if you find out they’re lying, even once, wouldn’t you be really reluctant to take their word for anything again?

So what the fuck is it that makes them so...so...gullible? WILLINGLY credulous? Are they like people who love horror films because it makes them scared (whereas I don’t because if I need to be scared all I have to do is look at my bank balance)? Is it hardwiring?

Or is this just me asking an question that really has no answer?

may actually question some of what you are hearing. But that guy on the radio in your car is saying the same thing. And that magazine you ordered is to. Everywhere you go all you hear is faux news.

Then you go to a church that is basically saying the same thing. You are dedicated to that church and have been long before this mess started. You KNOW they would not lie to you, right? And they send you a magazine every month reinforcing what they say. And everyone in that church - friends of yours - say it also. You trust them.

All of the above sources do not trust the government or the schools or science. In fact most of us on the rw and the left do not exactly trust the government! (Just read DU). And schools teach our kids things we do not want to know - history, science and evolution, birth control, climate change. All these things scare us and the media and our church tell us they are wrong or they are lies. Schools cannot be trusted either!!! And science - they do not understand it and they do not agree even if they do.

And so the individual becomes isolated. They watch only faux news, have a church that "tells them the truth" and is the only church telling them the truth, and they put their children in a parochial/private school that teaches what they want their kids to know and totally isolate themselves from any other sources of education.

Now they are in a complete bubble. They do not care what anyone else thinks - they do not care about stepping outside of the group and they vote like they are told. Even if it is against themselves.

Brainwashed.

While I fault the ignorant, most of the blame goes to the Plutocrats and their media who intentionally lie and mislead to maintain their control over our government.

We are fighting for control of our government which was taken over, not by a coup in the normal sense, but by insidiously, over time, big money interests powerful enough to dictate who Obama puts in charge of the Fed and Treasury just to name a few. Since Reagan, they always have had all the bases covered no matter who wins and the winner is usually their 1st choice. Bernie is the wild card they don't control!
