Sanders' Strategist: We'll Talk Other Things if Clinton Continues Sexist Accusations.

From The Bern Report

Some people have been getting on Bernie’s case a little bit because he appears to have changed his stance a little bit in terms of his campaign strategy. But has he really changed that much? From my angle he’s been merely defending himself and pointing out the truth but he’d prefer to stick with the issues that are facing the country.

Of course by now you probably have heard that this man who has fought for women, gays and minorities for literally his whole political career has been accused of using sexist terminology against Hillary Clinton. From here, it’s seems like a horrible strategy by her camp. Do they not know how to use the internet or Youtube? Geezus, you can sit there for days on end if you wanted to and watch video after video of Bernie sticking up for the oppressed.

As we said in an earlier article that accusation simply isn’t true. Bernie used the term “shouting” long before Clinton and her camp thought he had a chance in this campaign. Hell, they wouldn’t even mention his name when he began using the term “shouting”. Back in July he did an interview on MSNBC that covered the issue of gun control:

“But the important piece is: Anybody can bring up a piece of legislation tomorrow, but if it doesn’t have the support of folks who come from rural America, it’s not going to get passed,” he said, urging people to “stop shouting at each other and come forward with sensible ideas.” – Bernie Sanders on July 26, 2015 (source MSNBC)

Dare I even throw out that awful bandied-about accusation, "anti-semitic?"

Obviously, we can engage in that nonsense too. I hope we don't have to descend to that. We might have to to make a point and then nip this in the bud.

Hillary is no more anti-semitic than Bernie is sexist.

I'm a lifelong feminist and find no shortage of sexism every day. Sanders is one of the least sexist politicians out there. And BTW, I've met him and Jane. I've met a lot of them. He ain't a sexist. He's an equal opportunity righteous shouter. I'm sure it drives people around him crazy and that he's a real curmudgeon. But he takes women seriously. He definitely takes Clinton seriously. He takes social justice terribly seriously.

It'd be nice if the candidates could stay out of the gutter through all of this. I'm losing hope.
