Let's put them in a timeout....

So HRC's solution to police violence against black kids is to put everybody in timeout????

Sorry, but that was a wtf moment for me during this debate.

My view on how each fared:

OMalley. Very focused, very clear. The only thing I had a bit of an issue with was that I didn't feel he was sincere about what he had been thinking in that moment as a young Gary Hart activist. His answer was fine, but it was lacking a little sincerity to me. All in all though, I thought he did very well. His digs at Sanders and Clinton really had no sting.

Sander's. Crushed it. Seriously crushed it. Political Cowardice, outstanding label for exactly what voter suppression is. Showed a human side and actually recalled what the UC rally was all about. Very passionate and articulate on economic causes. I thought his answer was fine on foreign intervention and making sure that middle east countries step up and stop relying on the US almost exclusively. Really showed his personality, very likable and well rounded....not just an old white guy shouting.

Clinton. Rambling with no serious substance. Evaded answering questions regarding her hawkishness. Horrible on issues involving systemic police violence against minorities. Felt she was sincere about her wedding photo and where she was at as a young woman. HRC is very accomplished, has a great resume, that came through, but also a very careful politician unwilling to express all that much specific substance without hedging.

Oh and if you are an HRC supporter and you respond in here in any way can the admins here please simply ban them?

DWS. Finally....she looked like she did not belong on stage, completely lost, not knowing what the hell to do and I noticed no candidate cozyed up to her there. That gave me a bit of hope that maybe, just maybe she is done.

ALL THREE of our candidates did hand-clapping rounds tonight. You should be damn proud of ALL of them!

And who the hell are you to ask that Hillary supporters be banned from this thread? DU is an open forum...everyone has the right to respond! You should be ashamed of yourself!

I just kind of ignore him anymore...was looking for more post forum talk, thought Rachel was amazing and will probably make the R's completely jealous about their debate trainwrecks.

Now that is one thing I like a whole lot about Martin O'Malley. He has no clue about how to be mean. I don't think he has even a hint of meanness about him.

If Bernie had decided to not run I would be behind O'Malley 100%.

But, Bernie is running and I am very pleased he is ready to kick some butt.

I learned a lot about OMalley tonight, much more than I would have from a standard format debate. I felt he answered his questions fairly and with passion as well as defending his record as Governor. He gets kudos from me. HRC, bleh. Sorry but she was just a rambling mess.

I really wish I could back two candidates.

I don't have cable so maybe I will catch this later online someplace.

But, in general I have noticed O'Malley doesn't go negative either. He will hit on a difference, but he doesn't do that mean thing where other politicians go for the jugular. If only everyone was like the world would be a better place.

I'd urge anyone who is in a position to do that to go for it--I don't want him dropping out for lack of funds. If you don't have the means to do that and also support Sanders, well that's the way the cookie crumbles.

At the end, though, when Bernie and Hillary were bending over, shaking hands, talking with people, O'Malley looked like a piece of wood, kind of. He stood there with an uneasy and false smile on his face, and looked nervous as hell.

Clinton did no damage to herself, really. O'Malley didn't really help himself. Bernie did help himself.

plus the "I told Wall Street to cut it out" comment from the first debate, make it seem like she's not taking these problems seriously. I see Hillary differently than I once did. She's lost her passion, imo.

I liked O'Malley, particularly his quote, "The endurance symbol for our country is not the barbed-wire fence; it is the Statue of Liberty." If he runs again, he could be my choice.

Right now this country needs a Bernie Sanders or an Elizabeth Warren.

she repeated the

"I told them to cut it out" BS tonight too. Okay, so how effective was that?...Not very.

Hell, I wagged my finger at Wall Street too and yet did anything change? How about actually proposing some legislation to deal with all of it, including Too Much bigger To Fail???" Does she want to break up the big banks? Nope, wag a finger? Sure that will solve things, just like asking everybody to take a timeout and think about what they are doing....fugly.

You polish a trophy, your car, a table top etc, these are things not human beings.

Shiny on the outside and soulless on the inside, that's what things are.

I liked O'Malley's response when asked rail or moon. I didn't care for his defensive posture. When Rachel asked a question which included the wording "get things done" his body stiffened and said something along the lines of "interesting wording"

I think Bernie did a very good job expressing that it's not all about him. That WE as a country need to be engaged. I did cringe when he said "working class white people" because I KNEW that would be twisted negatively and used against him rather than seen as what it was. His point was the working class and poor of the Republican party continually vote against their own best interest.

Hillary is Hillary. She dropped a lot of names. Comes off as "I am THE Hillary Clinton". She had an opportunity to be playful when asked who she would choose as her running mate from the R side, but instead took the safe way out and refused a response. She even stated how it would immediately tank who she named so why not name Cruz, Huckabee, Christie, etc?
