South Carolina Young Leaders for Bernie

Bernie Sanders’ campaign on Thursday unveiled chairs for South Carolina Young Leaders for Bernie, an influential group of local African-American leaders that includes the president of Young Democrats of South Carolina, the youngest county councilman in the state and Benedict College’s student body president.
Bryanta Maxwell, president of the Young Democrats of South Carolina, will chair the committee.
“I’m endorsing Bernie Sanders because he is the candidate who speaks out on the Black Lives Matter movement and the issues plaguing black America,” said Maxwell. “His comprehensive plans to address institutional racism and reform our broken criminal justice system are the strongest in the race. I look forward to working to bring other young leaders into the political revolution here in South Carolina.”
