Related: About this forumPRESS RELEASE: POLLS SHOW SANDERS BEST CHANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE
Sanders runs markedly better than Clinton against Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, the leaders in their partys field of candidates in Iowa and New Hampshire, according to a memo by Sanders pollster Ben Tulchin.
The analysis of public polling on the White House race also yielded these key points:
Sanders is viewed more favorably by Americans than any other candidate for president from either party.
He is regarded as the most honest and trustworthy candidate of either party.
Sanders is popular with independents while Clinton fares poorly with that bloc of critical swing voters in general elections.
He is very popular with younger voters and can galvanize
them to turn out, helping Democrats up and down the ticket.
Republicans favor Sanders far more than Clinton.

(23,156 posts)have gotten to know who Bernie Sanders is, and just what he stands for.
Back last summer, when Hillary was very far ahead of him in all polling, I and many others kept on saying that very few people had heard of him yet, and just wait until they do. Well, the Hillary supporters all mocked us about that. As his support steadily climbed, and hers steadily declined, they kept on claiming she would win the general, and he couldn't, even though as I recall, by last fall he was polling at least as well as she was in the general election match-up. Then it got so he would do better than she in a general election.
I know that hypothetical match-ups are just that, hypothetical, but as more and more people are paying attention, they become more meaningful.

(60,010 posts)He knows the MSM will ignore him as much as possible.
But he puts out pithy statements, like the one in my sig line, multiple times a day on twitter and Facebook and mailing lists.
Hillary gets a little MSM coverage and I don't see her much on Twitter ( have to admit I am not following her, tho)
the MSM are slathering over Trump, who is taking attention away from both parties.

(5,668 posts)in Sept 2000 as usual. Enough to vote but way to late for this Caucus system. But I'm still at heart an Independent. They call me Centrist or Libertarian. so for 12 yrs this could be my last Caucus if Bernie ends up losing. Because voting for Bush Jr or Donald Trump eh not much of a choice. I'd have to write in Bernie. People can blame Nader all they want but at the end of the day Bush had that election stolen via his use of the Supreme Court
