e.mail from Joe B:

Here’s what we believe:

For too long, our system has allowed unlimited shady dark money donors to continue to write big checks and buy the outcome they want.
We’ve become a democracy of “we the donors” not “we the people.”
And we need to change that.
That’s why Joe Biden is rejecting all help from corporate PACs, federal lobbyists, and registered foreign agents.

But Ellen, that means we are counting on grassroots donors like you to fund our campaign. Donald Trump has $40 million in the bank, so we need to catch up.

Can we count on you to make your first donation to this campaign?

Our campaign is all about you. That’s exactly how campaigns should be funded.

But Ellen, it’s a lot easier to get one SuperPAC to write a $10,000 check -- and that’s what the Trump Campaign is benefiting from.

So we really need your help if we are going to be able to beat him. Can you please chip in today?

I think if Biden continues Hillary's policy of spending his time at private fund raising dinners, he'll lose support from the progressive wing of the Democratic party.

Biden, with his immense support on the DU and country wide as indicated by all the polls, will have no trouble raising the needed funds from individuals via actblue and other collectors.

And you say Bernie supporters are unfairly targeted here. Really?

I was pointing out that Biden probably would lose some supporters if he continued the policy of attending private fund raising dinners. Maybe he'll collect a lot of money though and it won't make any difference to most of his supporters who are OK with politics as usual.

I have loved Hillary ever since she and Bill ran for President in 1992. I cheered at Bill's comment that we would be getting two for the price of one.

I'd never Bash Hillary but I'll put forth constructive criticism when I see one of our Candidates needing it.

Spending time at private dinners has the appearance that those with money to attend deserve more attention than the voting public. If each of our votes are equal, show it. Time at rallies and town halls is better time spent. Visits to the states that swung to Trump rather than dinners in the blue coast states would pay higher in votes and allow the public a chance to feel the power of coming together to throw Trump out.

private fund raisers and you know that is true if you know anything about Hillary. You post was a snide way of knocking Hillary and Biden both.

I simply pointed out that attending private, fund raising dinners may not be that good of an idea. If you think it is a good idea then say so. If you think it is a negative, then let's shake hands, we agree on something.

Off course Hillary did a lot more than attend private fund raisers. I never suggested that was her only activity.

I don't appreciate being put down because you imagine some sort of attack.

Do you think its a good look having our candidates attend private fund raisers? Or not?

I don't think it is. That's all I stated. I mentioned Hillary because in the 2016 election she was attacked for such. I think Biden will be too. I think the reason he will be attacked and the reason Hillary was attacked was because it does look bad. It feeds into the "Elitist" claims. It makes the candidate seem less open to wishes of the public.

Do want to talk about the issue, or bash me about something else?

If you won, you got a dinner with him. I think that's a great way to show you care what ordinary donors think.
