Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumHmm, anti-Bernie post by a RWNJ on FB today.
(Side note: I follow a few RWNJs on FB. Interesting to see what they post; sometimes it's a heads up to the latest anti-Dem talking points.)
So, this is based in truth but of course the meme they posted was exaggerated. I don't really do images on DU so won't post the meme, but below is a link to the Politifact article about it.
Supposedly Bernie said 'When you're white ... you don't know what it's like to be poor' - a pretty effed up thing to say. Indicating one of: a) he is f*ckin' clueless about how a lot of us live; or b) he just lets words fall out of his mouth without thinking about what he is saying. Either one, not a great thing for a Democratic presidential candidate!
Second thought: a RWNJ posted this on FB. This particular is one of a group I think of as "real people who blindly re-post whatever the Russian bot pages are sending their way"; so MAYBE Bernie isn't a preferred candidate by that bunch this time? OR they see the writing on the wall and want to finish him off so they can elevate another stalking horse? (Hmm, TG maybe?)

(3,259 posts)We are talking about rabid right wingers on facebook. They are simply using his comment to confirm their bias against the left. Everyone on the left.

(17,600 posts)I just thought they would lay low on Bernie and hope he would somehow get the nomination, because he would be so easy to beat. I think now they realize that isn't going to happen, so they can use him as part of the "generic left" slandering they do on a daily basis.

(6,228 posts)trump to have to run against Biden. I sure wish folks would understand it's a numbers game.

(17,600 posts)I understand some on the far left not being thrilled with him due to some past policy positions. But our number one goal needs to be to stop the hemorrhaging and get the patient (this country) on life support. We can't do that with someone who can't win the middle of the country. Biden probably can.
I just found it interesting because I thought the right wingers would promote Sanders more, because they know they can beat him. I think they might now see him as history, and looking to who else they can prop up for that role.
