Theres no need for sharp elbows: Iowa Dems warn against new Bernie-Hillary wars
After a rancorous 2016 caucus battle that left the state party reeling, Democratic leaders are determined to keep the peace this year between the various campaigns.
Ask just about any Iowa Democrat about the states 2016 fight-to-the-death caucuses and it elicits a similar response: a long pause, a deep breath and a plea to talk about something anything else.
snip There is no tolerance whatsoever for the bullshit this time, said Polk County Chair Sean Bagniewski. When I see people standing up spouting conspiracy theories in meetings, people start reacting. When its on social media, theres an avalanche of people saying, not this year, were not doing this again.
snip Bernie Sanders senior adviser in Iowa, Pete DAlessandro, said that if in an organizing meeting a supporter reopens complaints from the last election, theyre immediately cut off ... 2016 is over.
( I guess thats why Senator Sanders talks about Mrs Clintons super delegates in his stump speech - to clear the air)

As for Hillary, no one here's surprised I'm guessing. There's huge, unrequited HillHate still out there among some on the far left, the misogynist middle, and all across the right. Yes, she didn't become president, but women are still increasingly powerful and they still haven't burned the witch.
So it makes sense that both sides are going to try to harness it. I'm thinking we should expect both the Sanders and Trump campaigns and their activist followers to try to "hillaryize" any candidate who is seen as a threat. Maybe watch for "obama-ization" also when targeting particular groups.

(10,828 posts)who would love to stir this pot once again. Sure there are Bernie Burn-Outs who will not let anything go from 2016--the whole Bernie was cheated out of the nomination crap--but the right-wing Trumpsters and their foreign supporters will see a clear advantage in creating division and chaos, a 2016 redux.
Shut it down, along with the Biden = Hillary 2.0 baloney. It serves no one's interests beyond the Trumpster.

There is no candidate in American history who they were less likely to give the nomination to, in spite of losing the PDs, than Hillary Clinton.
