Pete Buttigieg had the best response to Trump's new nickname for him

Pete Buttigieg has responded in the best possible way to Donald Trump's latest disparaging comment.

The president was asked about Mayor Pete's chances of becoming president in an interview with Politico and responded: "Alfred E Neuman cannot become president of the United States.”

For those confused, Trump was referring to a fictitious character which functions as a mascot for Mad, an American satirical magazine which hit peak relevance in the 1950s and 60s.

When asked about the president's jibe, Buttigieg seemed amused and used the opportunity to throw some subtle shade at Trump, who is the oldest person to hold the office.

"I'll be honest, I had to google that," said 38-year-old Buttigieg. "I guess it's a generational thing – I didn't get the reference."

which will only result in Trump throwing more jabs at him in the future. If he wasn't willing to hit him back harder, then he should have just ignored him completely.

Trump relishes in hard hitting jabs. It is what he loves and a couple of our candidates like Pete know this. What Trump hates is to be mocked which is what Pete does best.
