Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMSNBC said on air, Biden at 58% among blacks in S.C.
Also MSNBC said Harris has been to Iowa only one time,
and appears to putting her hope in primaries and caucuses further down the calendar.
But I heard this past week that all our nominees in recent years finished in the top 3 in Iowa
and the top 2 in N.H.
Soooo, how does that work out for those like Harris hoping to do better 'later'?

She'd make a great president or vice president.

(22,236 posts)Half the people in this country still haven't had a chance to "meet" Kamala Harris, while everyone in the country already knows who Joe Biden is. After the debates begin, the polls you see today could very likely be far different from the polls you'll see in 6 months or so.

(3,696 posts)Some Candidates may skip IA altogether because it's so resource intensive. Having said that other early primary states do become more influential. Regarding SC, most folks expected Biden to do well in SC but NOT as well as recent polls show especially with Black voters. I have not seen the 58% poll but he has polled in the high 40s in recent polls with Black voters. I think that high level of support is legit and creates a problem for Harris in the state. If Biden does well in IA, NH and then SC that could be the start of some huge momentum.

Did you happen to see Bernie's appearance at an historically black church, in a black neighborhood, in the majority black city of North Charleston, SC? That was definitely an humiliating "omen" for the BS campaign. It was amazing to see that in such an ethnically diverse and mixed place as North Charleston... the attendees at his rally were LESS diverse than what you'd find in Vermont. BS just isn't connecting with AA and POC voters.
One thing is for certain... whoever wants to be our party's nominee will NOT be able to do it without the support of AA and other POC voters. As far as BS is concerned, that ship has sailed.
