Trump and Sanders have the same problem: They are both running 2016 campaigns

Donald Trump is stuck in 2016. As president, he continually reminds America and relives his previous campaign in his speeches and appearances. The president thinks that he can run the 2016 campaign over again against Joe Biden and win.

In some ways, Trump has the same problem as Bernie Sanders. The country has changed since 2016, but both Sanders and Trump are running the same campaigns that they ran years ago. Sanders is slumping in the polls, and Trump is in position to lose to Biden.

Joe Biden isn’t Hillary Clinton. He doesn’t come pre-baked with decades of negative media coverage. Biden is better at personally connecting to voters than Clinton. Hillary Clinton did win the popular vote in a presidential election. However, Joe Biden is not the same as Clinton, and Trump will be making a fatal mistake if he treats them both as the same.

Both Trump and Sanders are way behind Biden in the polls. Neither one of them seem able to change their message or their campaigning to bring it up to date to 2020. This could mean they will both lose, unless something drastic happens.

And it won't work. Regarding Bernie, we have excellent members of the Democratic Party running this time. Members of the Democratic Party are the operative words.

Sanders put Trump in the White House with his attacks on Clinton in total agreement with Trump on international trade agreement and tariffs. Hilary Clinton was caught in a cross fire with her major opponent in total agreement with the Trump's positions on how he was going to restore basic manufacturing jobs that was a total exercise in delusional bull crap.

He is going to provide the same service for Biden. The part time opportunistic Democrat whose years in the congress has produced renaming of two post offices and shoe in veteran bill is effective as fart in a windstorm. Sanders alliance with the Democrats is solely self serving. He doesn't give a damn about actually achieving effect change. Just grandstanding with promises that have as much attempt of being achieved as Trump's con job that he was going to restore millions of jobs that have been displaced by automation. Pulling out of the TPP that Sanders effectively achieved with his effective support of Trump would have eliminated 18,000 tariffs and has created a vacuum in which the China was seized to expands influence throughout Asia. China can thank Sanders for one of the most effective weapons that they were given that is allowing them to totally dominate the markets throughout Asia.
