When candidates drop out

With Eric Swalwell dropping out today, here's a quick explanation for what happens to their status in DU's Democratic Primaries forum.

It's pretty straightfoward. Once we change a candidates status from "running" to "not running," three things happen. First, the candidate is removed from the main Candidate Rankings table and placed into the "Out" row at the bottom of the table. Second, members who have the candidate set as their first-choice candidate preference will automatically have their preference switched to "Undecided." Third, the candidate's group (if they have one) will be archived.

We plan to move pretty quickly when candidates drop out -- expect their status to be changed on DU within 24 hours, probably sooner.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Undecided
