Biden Needs To S*** or Get Off

I thought of supporting Biden but it worries me that he apparently couldn’t get small dollar donors (according to knowledgeable people) and would have to rely on big money donations. Sanders, Warren and others have no trouble with small $ donations. I like Biden, but his age bothers me, also (78) I must admit. Appreciate any thoughts.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

Same with Senator Sanders. I have two grandparents over the age of 95 and although they have some dementia or memory problems they are doing just fine physically. Can you restate?

HRC and RGB not running for POTUS isn't an "opinion," it's fact.

The discussion of age being an issue is for the position of POTUS. POTUS is a 24/7 on call job (when it's being competently done), with international travel, long hours and very high stress situations that require mental acuity and the ability to listen and absorb large amounts of information and act on it in a short amount of time.

Not so much for a SCOTUS justice... So the metric for RGB is different. Is that clearer?

Individuals age differently, but the issues with things going wrong due to aging start in most people at 70. Usually they appear later in women than in men.

ANY POTUS candidate needs to be transparent about their health.

People can attack me for ageism all they want, but I think having a president who will be 82 at the end of his first term is absolutely ridiculous.

1) Someone who is as old as Biden is is more likely to die in office than someone younger. It's just a fact of life. His father died when he was 86 and Biden won't be that much younger than that at the end of his term.

2) I don't like idea of the future of this country being molded by people who will not be alive to experience it.

3) I feel like we've had more than enough members of his generation as president. For heaven's sake, he's four years older than Bill Clinton, a man who would have become president almost 30 years before he did. No thanks.

that you object to, without regard to age. Making general comments about an individual based on his or her group membership is an objectionable "ism", whether it is based on age, race, gender, etc.

You (and I, and others) don't get a pass from legitimate criticism about bias when we engage in biased statements or other behaviors. This is not an "attack."

Pete B spoke about this and made a very good point. He mentioned Trump said multiple times that he won't be around to experience XYZ so it does not matter.

Young people have issues that disproportionally affect them. Millennials are the first generation to not be (economically) better off than their parents. Not to mention that the planet is dying and this administration is taking no action.

My parents both made it it to their 9th decade. I'm not concerned about his age, or that of Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren who is going to hit 70 in a few months.

He’s polling well, surely you don’t believe those supporters would not make small donations once he announces.

Or Biden, the person you "thought of supporting" for that matter?

I'm 100% not interested in non substantive negative blather or hyperbole. It's a personal thing I've evolved into after the horrors of 2016.

FWIW, I'm knowledgeable in small money donors. I am one after all. If Biden looks like our candidate in the primaries he'll get my monies.

RFK hadn't even announced a year from today! Make it a law that nobody can register as running for president earlier than say November of the year before a presidential election year! I am certainly not going to bother looking at candidates before then. Constant campaigning is a scourge. Biden could easily wait another 6 months as far as I'm concerned.

Biden Speaks To Chants Of 'Run, Joe, Run' As 2020 Decision Nears
Scott Detrow March 12, 201911:57 AM ET

Former Vice President Joe Biden speaks to the International Association of Fire Fighters in Washington on Tuesday, amid growing expectations he'll soon announce he's running for president in 2020.
Andrew Harnik/AP

Looking out over a crowd of firefighters chanting, "Run, Joe, run," former Vice President Joe Biden urged patience.

"Save it a little longer; I may need it in a few weeks," he said, adding, "Be careful what you wish for."

Biden isn't officially running for president — at least not yet — but Tuesday's speech to the International Association of Fire Fighter's annual conference blocks from Capitol Hill served as the latest warmup act to a potential 2020 campaign.

I like Biden, too.

But he is too old and he seems to show and act his age more than, say Bernie.
I'm not going to support any candidate over 65, except maybe Warren.

And ... with Biden's track record as a presidential candidate I just have a bad feeling that at 76 years old, when he makes one of his predictable Biden mistakes it is going to be debilitating and very sad.

I really hope Biden doesn't get into this.
