Welp! Sanders gets the coveted Michael Moore endorsement. The rest of us can go home now.

What Democrats need, Moore told Seth Meyers on NBC's "Late Night" Thursday, is "a beloved candidate who's a street fighter" to inspire the Democratic base of "women, people of color, and young adults between 18-35. That's 70% of who's going to vote next year."...

... Of the current candidates, Meyers asked, which are street fighters?

"Two," Moore answered, identifying one, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

I voted for Sanders in the primary and Hillary in November - but many didn't. They unfortunately stayed home - just as Moore warned they might.

This goes to the sad fact that Hillary couldn't inspire progressive voters they way Bernie could. She commanded respect - but, alas, not enthusiasm.

That's the key, in a close election (barring fraud, of course - which I know Cheeto's working on as we speak).

is that a Democratic nominee who can't inspire enough voters, plays right into Cheeto's grubby little hands.

I like Joe Biden, and will be happy to vote for him in November and encourage others to do so.

But I know many won't - and in a close election, it would only take a couple of points of abstention to get Orange Amin re-elected.

One of the greatest strengths of mainstream Democrats is that you can count on them to vote for the nominee almost without regard to who it is (within reason, of course). Loyalty.

But your more progressive, left-wing Democrats are more prone to staying at home (or, in more extreme cases, voting Green) if the nominee doesn't check off enough ideological boxes for them.

That's their big weakness, no doubt about it. I've long warned my fellow Sanders-wing Democrats from falling into that trap, whenever the conversation arose.

Most in fact know better than to do so - but a substantial number don't, sadly.

After Sanders lost, Moore, Cenk, Turner and the rest of the crew continued to trash Clinton as a means to suppress the vote of those who admire them. To this point I don’t see that mentioned in your conversation. It’s provable fact. The only interpretation is that he said it and then worked to make it happen.

Plus, we're lucky in that most of our candidates are viable (and certainly competent enough).

The trick will be seeing how the nominee - who'll most likely be Biden - plays in the general.

All in all, I think Biden can beat Orange Amin - in a fair fight.

But what I was reading was that Sanders is the only candidate that can inspire other candidate's supporters, so we all should fall in line and support him because progressives won't get behind other candidates.

This goes to the sad fact that Hillary couldn't inspire progressive voters they way Bernie could. She commanded respect - but, alas, not enthusiasm.

President Donald Trump will win a second term if Democrats choose a "professional politician" to run against him in 2020, filmmaker and liberal rabble rouser Michael Moore says -- and he includes in that category a certain former Colorado governor

Sanders ran third party campaigns in Vermont in the 1970's after moving there in 68.

Biden successfully ran for City Council in 1969.

There is a one year difference between them in age.w

This is why Moore's opinion isn't valid - to me.

This election is different. The environment has never been like this. The country is approaching peak diversity. There are 8 Candidates I think will be epic failures in a GE.

Neither Sanders not Biden fall in that category.

I also think come September - we are going to have a much cleaner field. Depending on GOP Senate and White House behavior . . .

A lot is going to shift in our field of excellence between the end of September and the first Primary.

I also don't think MY and Iowa will matter as much this time. SC and NV could say - nope. Don't read on us. We aren't going along to get along.

Strange days with too much uncertainty.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE 2000 CAMPAIGN: THE GREEN PARTY; In Nader Supporters' Math, Gore Equals Bush
By DAVID W. CHEN
OCT. 15, 2000

From the standing-room-only logjam near the stage to the nosebleed seats near the championship banners of the Knicks and Rangers, about 15,000 people of all ages, hair colors and political backgrounds filled Madison Square Garden on Friday night for the biggest rally yet supporting Ralph Nader's presidential bid. ...

Michael Moore, the filmmaker, lambasted the front-runners. ''A vote for Gore is a vote for Bush,'' he said. ''If they both believe in the same thing, wouldn't you want the original than the copy? Wouldn't you want Bush? Sirloin or hamburger? Which would you go for?''
