MSNBC's Anti-Sanders Bias Makes It Forget How to Do Math

(snip)

The hostility is so entrenched, in fact, it seems to have corrupted MSNBC’s mathematical reasoning and created a new system of arithmetic. The cable news network has repeatedly made on-air and online mistakes about Sanders’ polling and other numbers—always to his detriment, and never with any official correction.

Here are some new rules MSNBC seems to follow when it comes to math and Bernie Sanders.

(snip)

Lest you think this was an isolated incident, MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki placed Sanders’ name below Warren’s on July 15, when he was “reporting” on a poll put out by the Washington Post and NBC (MSNBC’s parent company.) Once again, the order of the names is descending by poll numbers—except for Bernie Sanders’, which is, once again, placed below where it should be. This time, Sanders is placed below Warren, though he polls higher than she does (both in the percentage who say they would vote for each candidate and the spread over Trump). This same order is used in the online story’s headline (7/14/19), which says, “Trump Trails Biden, Warren and Sanders in New NBC News/Wall Stree Journal Poll.”

(snip)

After an April Monmouth poll showed Sanders polling at 27 percent among non-white voters and Biden polling at 25 percent, Velshe and Ruhle (4/29/19) showed a graphic which somehow added three points to Biden’s numbers, putting him in “first” place.

12. MSM is to blame
Sat Jul 27, 2019, 12:13 PM
Jul 2019

MSM is to blame for so much of what went wrong in 2016. Their ability to control the narrative, essentially telling Americans what and how to think, is overwhelming. They are owned by large wealthy corporations which are inextricably tied to wealthy political players. Media corporations and wealthy conservative politicians are only out to protect their self-interests. The way they ran with Hillary’s email dump and turned it into something (when it was really nothing) likely changed the minds of many Americans when it came time to vote. They should not be trusted.

But he keeps on keeping on...Bernie is in second place but you would never know it to hear them go on about Harris and Warren. I like Warren but don't like Harris would vote for any in the general. But there is no question that neither Harris or Warren are likely to win a general. I think Biden has the best chance with Bernie having the second best chance but he won't carry Ohio or Texas...and I have concerns about some rust belt states...but at least Bernie has a shot.

Comcast had nothing to do with the fund raiser...it was a guy who personally supports Biden...and I have watched the coverage...took MSNBC off my DVR. You would never know by watching the coverage that Harris is in Fourth place and Warren is in third place and neither are likely to win a nomination. And Harris has her time as AG and DA to contend with.
