(1,239 posts)You must opt out of Social Security and most welfare benefits to get UBI. A senior getting $1K a month on SS gets nothing and with a $2T price tag and a VAT tax its going to be bad news for the poor. Yang is dishonest when he says "everybody" and "every citizen". He says his goal is not to eliminate Social Security and Welfare but if it was he does not have to change what he is doing.
