Nine states have introduced gun licensing. Were these pi-partisan initiatives. Did Democratic legislatures and/or Governors that introduced them face a backlash, or win approval?

One thing we know, gun control laws will be passed by congress and state legislatures, not the president. The president as party leader will ask congress for the strong and sensible legislation that most of the nation, including most on the right, have long wanted.
