Jake Tapper opened todays State of the Union calling out the president for sharing the deranged conspiracy and he asked the 2020 Democratic candidate for his response.
ORourke said Trumps trying to force you and me and all of us to focus on his bizarre behavior instead of the fact that we just lost 22 people in this community, nine people in Dayton, Ohio.

Regarding comments Trump made in the hospital, ORourke said, For him then to focus on comparing political rallies or on himself or how much people love him just shows you how sick this guy is and how unfit for this office he should be consoling people, bringing people together, focusing on their pain and improving their lives and instead hes focused on himself.

Of course, Trump admin official Lynne Patton, the former wedding planner and totally unqualified regional director for HUD in NY and NJ, had posted on Instagram that HRC was responsible within minutes of the news about Epstein's death breaking:

I'd assumed she'd cleared that with the Trump WH first, so I wasn't surprised to hear of Trump retweeting similar garbage.

(10,828 posts)Another shiny object to deflect attention away from El Paso and Dayton and even more so from the word 'racist'. In fact, I read a piece this morning at WAPO indicating that Trump is really disturbed by the racist branding, drives him crazy even though his words and actions can easily be labeled racist and bigoted.
Maybe it's this, too. Trump is smart enough to realize how toxic the word racist is, how it taints not only the person branded but anyone he/she associates with, as in donors, power brokers, political foot soldiers. So he and his enablers will do anything to change the subject, even throw out an absurd conspiracy theory to redirect the chatter. What better way to do that than involve the Clintons, replay the whole Vince Foster mania.
There is no low for Trump and his enablers. Think we need to remember that.
Cheers to Beto O'Rourke for calling this nonsense out.
