Washington Post editor calls Sanders claim about campaign coverage a 'conspiracy theory'

"I talk about (Amazon's taxes) all of the time," Sanders said in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. "And then I wonder why The Washington Post, which is owned by Jeff Bezos, who owns Amazon, doesn't write particularly good articles about me. I don't know why."

snip====================================================================

In a statement provided to CNN on Monday evening, Baron responded, saying,

"Sen. Sanders is a member of a large club of politicians — of every ideology — who complain about their coverage. Contrary to the conspiracy theory the senator seems to favor, Jeff Bezos allows our newsroom to operate with full independence, as our reporters and editors can attest.”

snip====================================================================

Earlier this year, Baron told The New York Times that Bezos "has never gotten involved in our reporting or our final stories." Baron added at the time, "People surmise that it must be difficult to cover Jeff and Amazon. But we've gone five-and-a-half years with his ownership, and he hasn't once intervened in any way."

Sanders connected Bezos' ownership of the Post to its coverage. But on Monday night in North Conway, New Hampshire, he also singled out The New York Times.

He's Trump-like in his demands that media cover him just like he wants. No other candidate has that, but Saint Bernie must have deference from the media.

But Bernie nursed this sense of grievance against the press and DNC in 2016, in spite of the fact that Hillary won:

34 contests to his 23 (remember that the territories vote in the primaries)

2842 delegates to his 1865

and 16.9 million votes to 13.2 million (55-43%)

He likes to whine just to whine.

If he pulls this sour grapes crap again this year I'm slashing his tires (just kidding, but I'll be pissed).

Joe Biden is a class act.

Be that as it may, anyone advancing narratives designed to undermine public trust in in reliable news sources needs to be called out.

Sign of class from Biden last night as the front-runner spent two-plus hours listening from the audience to all his opponents speak at the Wing Ding. He was the only candidate who did that.

He was actually the person AMERICA wanted for president in 2016, but the electoral process was corrupted by Democrats, and the press buried him. (The Democratic Party controls MSNBC outright.)

They, and Hillary of course, also kept him from running third-party, which in a real election he would have won handily against both corrupt nominees of the major parties.

This is all from the horses' one end or the other at another forum.

Devin Nunes sues hometown paper for reporting mean things about him

...Nunes' lawsuit looks like yet another attempt by the California Republican and loyal Trump defender to take down the newspaper that reports on his congressional district.

Nunes went after the Fresno Bee in campaign ads in his 2018 re-election bid, as well as sent out an unhinged fake magazine attacking the newspaper.
