Sorry Steve Bullock - You can't run for the Democratic Nominee for President & say "DEMOCRAT PARTY"

Last edited Wed Aug 14, 2019, 08:52 PM - Edit history (1)

Just watching him live talking to Ali Velshi as he explained his positions and claimed that a Red State candidate should head the DEMOCRAT PARTY ticket....

Is he trying to get Republican Red State Vote? Fine. But if you want to be the Democratic Party nominee, don't use code from the Repukes and use an incorrect name of your party. Unless you refer every time to the Republic Party and its just a thing with folks from Montana.

Here is the video - he says it at 6:26

I just think it’s of all people if you wish to be a credible candidate to be the nominee for a party, you should know it’s proper name and not the slur propagated by GOP and used as a slur.

A Democrat is a member of the Democratic Party - not the Democrat Party. We are Democrats.

Just as a Republican is a member of the Republican Party - not the Republic Party. They are Republicans - not Republics.

After all, the words democratic and democrat aren't very different. But when they say "democrat party" they are putting our party down.

This pays off for them and people just like them very slowly. As I said, it normalizes the phrase and it enters everyday speech. But it's really propaganda.

To change the name of our party from the Democratic to the Democrat party makes them smile.
Like they got one over on us.
If we called them the Republic Party, they would go nuts.
By and large, our party has not objected. So, many people now think it is our name. It’s not!

The GOP knows that it's "Democratic", but they say "Democrat" on purpose because they think it's cute. Intentional ignorance like that should be mocked and called out at all opportunities.

Bullock, on the other hand, more than likely did it unintentionally. If he's doing it on purpose, someone needs to explain the difference between nouns and adjectives to him.

The Fascist Rethugs started its use as an insult to accentuate the work RAT,.. ha ha get it,.. subhuman.

They used it to piss off libs. Libs said/did nothing to stop or curtail the insult,.. now it has become normalized in Rethug vernacular and now sometimes used by Dems too.

It is like we are borrowing their insults to describe ourselves. And we can't figure out why we are commonly termed the weak party absent street smarts and the stamina to defend ourselves from external attack.

Propaganda ? Yes,.. Propaganda which denotes Weakness,... we follow along blindly rather than nip it in the bud and put our foot down to cease and desist at the outset. So the insult becomes normalized against us into perpetuity.

Wouldn't have mattered. After they ran the DemocRAT ad years ago, it was pretty much set in stone that they were going to use it as a slur for the rest of time.

Trump gets called out on his BS all the time. He just doubles down. I'm not sure there's really much we can do about it if people choose to be intentionally obtuse about it.

Shouldn't you be refusing to vote for anyone who uses the word "Democratic" also while you're at it? They absolutely use that one as an insult, every time. Also liberal, also progressive, also every other word that describes what we stand for that makes them look bad in comparison. When they made "empathy" a smear, did you cross any politician who used that off your list?

Let them be the stupid poo-poos. They can't help it.

“Im surprised that somebody as smart about political matters as you are doesn’t know the names of our two main political parties”.

That leaves them either smiling (because I called their shit out) or frowning because they’ve been led to believe our name changed and really don’t know it’s a slight.

If someone called you by a wrong name, wouldn’t you correct them?
Doesn’t our wonderful Democratic Party deserve the same respect?
