"SNIP....

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) declined to say whether she opposes a comeback by former Sen. Al Franken, suggesting that the Minnesota Democrat should make that decision himself, the Washington Post reports.

Said Gillibrand: “We’re a country that believes in second chances. We believe in someone who has humility, who comes forward to say they’re sorry and they have paid consequences and want to reemerge — that’s always there for everyone. And that’s a decision for someone to make themselves. It’s not my decision. It’s certainly not my responsibility. It’s for someone else to make their own judgments and decisions. But there’s always a path for redemption for anybody.”

So registered Dems were at about 66%

Gillibrand received 4 million votes,.. her opponent, Chele Chiavacci Farley (right, WHO?) 2 million.
So Gillibrand received about 66% of the vote...

That's all I can tell ya. I ain't no political expert.

I'll follow her lead and give serious thought to perhaps maybe considering, after much consultation, deliberation, and debate, as to whether she should have the opportunity to perhaps step forward and ask for consideration and contemplation regarding the possibility of whether she would be considered worthy of said redemption.

After all, everybody deserves to be treated fairly, right?

much more than the other Democratic to try to take political advantage of what she thought would elevate her position on sexual harassment.

and unfortunately, she seems to keep doubling down, by saying that Franken deserves to be given a chance at redemption, when she DID lead the charge to push him out. Yes, it was Franken's choice to step down, but it really wasn't a choice, when you have that kind of pressure exerted on you by your associates, and she was on the top of that list calling for it

She got the visibility she wanted at the time, and she is paying the consequences of that visibility for NOT letting the Franken episode run its natural course where he could have ended up resigning anyway.

It is what one calls political pandering, and by all appearances it is not working out for her on a national level

What happens in NY is up to New Yorkers

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was the first senator to call for former Minnesota Sen. Al Franken’s resignation when sexual misconduct allegations were brought against him.

Gillibrand led the charge, writing a lengthy Facebook post entitled "Senator Franken Should Step Aside."
"While Senator Franken is entitled to have the Ethics Committee conclude its review, I believe it would be better for our country if he sent a clear message that any kind of mistreatment of women in our society isn’t acceptable by stepping aside to let someone else serve," Gillibrand wrote.

But there is no evidence that she "led the charge".

https://www.cnn.com/2017/12/06/politics/senators-al-franken-resignation/index.html

But you are right, she is getting the treatment that Franken supporters accuse her of. Demonetization based on little evidence.
