Take a look the at the polling model prepared by The Economist

They's modeled polling over time for every candidate.

Buttigieg peaked after his April Town Hall and has been gradually dropping since.

Harris bounced after the June debate but has been dropping since mid-July.

Warren has been on a continual uptick since April.

Sanders started dropping in March and has been flat since mid-July.

Biden had a blip in mid-May, but has been otherwise flat.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Just how much excitement and dramatic movement do we expect when one candidate was far ahead long before he entered and has stayed well ahead? Another sufficiently new and different to provide interest becoming the designated challenger? A third with a floor of true believers, and other supporters, who keep him in so he can at least disrupt the convention?

A block of good people who can't break out and aren't likely to while the electorate is on summer vacation?

Expect more of it for the six months to the first primary elections. There'll be a debate followed by months of rehashed analysis, candidates will drop out, hopefully some good people will "break out" somewhat, maybe someone will enter causing claims of a new game. Literally hundreds of polls, of course, some earnest, more trash. The media will be looking for a way to turn every comment or lack of one into blood and controversy, and no doubt there'll be many attacks to help them out and give those few who imagine something's happening something to talk about.

It's not that nothing will matter, but February 3 will provide the next big insight into what it is.

among all candidates. She's been the strongest and the most consistent so far.
Everyone else has had a misstep or hiccup or hasn't been able to maintain a strong moment.
Still early but if she keeps this up, she's pretty much guaranteed to be in the top two at the end of the day.
