Bernie Sanders has stepped up his attacks on Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren. That isn't wise

Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign has stepped up attacks on his Democratic rivals this week as the party’s 2020 presidential primary field narrows, setting its sights, in particular, on Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Kamala Harris.

The first shot fired came from Jeff Weaver, a senior adviser to the Sanders campaign, who dismissed the threat Warren posed by stating that they are not “competing for the same pool of voters” and that Sanders’ “base is much more diverse”.

The second hit came from Sanders himself, when he took to Twitter to declare that “I don’t go to the Hamptons to raise money from billionaires” hours after Harris held a fundraiser in the popular resort.

The third attack came from activist Susan Sarandon, who praised Sanders by stating that “he is not someone who used to be a Republican” – something many saw as an indirect criticism of Warren, who was a registered Republican in the mid-1990s.

32. Sanders knocks Warren: Corporate wing of Democratic Party is 'anybody but Bernie'
Thu Aug 29, 2019, 07:17 PM
Aug 2019
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) took a shot at Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Wednesday, a sign that the fight to be the Democratic Party’s progressive standard-bearer is heating up as Warren rises in the polls.

Sanders, referencing a Politico article about how centrist Democrats are flocking to Warren’s campaign in an effort to ensure he doesn’t win the nomination, tweeted that the “corporate wing” of the Democratic Party is intent on electing anyone but him.

“The cat is out of the bag,” Sanders tweeted. “The corporate wing of the Democratic Party is publicly ‘anybody but Bernie.’ They know our progressive agenda of Medicare for All, breaking up big banks, taking on drug companies and raising wages is the real threat to the billionaire class.”

last year here in NY when I worked for Andrew Cuomo during both the primary and the general election.

The Democratic governor who brought us a $15/hr minimum wage, tuition-free community college and state university, and a gold-standard paid family leave program was painted as a "corporatist-centrist-incrementalist- establishment politician" rather than as the Democrat who actually enacted an agenda that benefitted working people and their families.

I question the judgement of anyone running for the Democratic nomination who surrounds himself with Jill Stein supporters and allows them to frame messages whose goal is to sow mistrust and division among Democrats.

There were many factors that went into Clinton’s loss to Trump, but Bernie’s support of her in the general election only brought her more votes, not fewer.

They’re probably not happy with Warren either, but if it’s going to be Warren or Sanders, they’re going to want Warren.

As far as who the corporate wing, most know what he means by that, and I’m pretty sure anyone on this forum knows it.

Second, if you put any weight on the sort of “party decides” view of the race, the party establishment seems to view her as being quite a bit more acceptable than Bernie, although she doesn’t have a ton of endorsements yet.

Shall we be putting Mr. Silver under the bus along with Bernie for telling the truth? (Again, this is not a "knock" on Warren, just an observation of the facts of the matter.)

Warren has eaten into some of Sanders support from 2016. It's splitting that lane on the progressive wind whereas Biden is cruising when it comes to the moderate wing. So I think whoever has the best chance of taking out Biden before Super Tuesday happens will get the endorsement from the other to go 1v1 with the full support of their wing behind them. I think that will be Warren.

I will be much happier with Warren going ahead than Sanders.

87. And His Supporters Do It Under The Guise of Supporting Gabbard

Even though Gabbard is barely a blip in the primaries, it amazing how many so-called social media supporters you have who attack every Democratic candidate except Bernie.

Russia takes side of Democratic 2020 candidate in row with British investigator over war crimes

Russia has publicly supported 2020 Democratic candidate Tulsi Gabbard after a British investigative journalist covering the Kremlin described her stance on the Syrian conflict as “self-contradictory” and an “error filled mess”. In a tweet posted on its account on Monday morning, the Russian embassy in South Africa appeared to support the Hawaii Democrat while attacking Eliot Higgins, founder of the open source investigative site Bellingcat, which has investigated the country’s involvement in the Syrian airstrikes, as well as the downing of the MH17 passenger plane over Ukraine and the poison attack against former Russian military intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury last year.

Kamala Harris, a leading 2020 Democratic candidate whose prosecutorial record Ms Gabbard attacked at last week’s presidential debates, has called the Hawaii congresswoman an “apologist” for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Ms Gabbard has “embraced” the Syrian president and “refuses to call him a war criminal”, Ms Harris said, adding: “I can only take what she says in her opinion so seriously.”

The congresswoman, who served in Iraq and has been critical of US military intervention, said in February during an interview with MSNBC that “Assad is not the enemy of the United States because Syria does not pose a direct threat to the United States".

primary today, I would vote for:
