The Incredible Irony of Bernie's Attacks On Joe Biden

It is amazing to see the various threads attacking Joe and boosting Bernie by focusing on Joe Biden's age and alleged gaffes. Of course, the media narrative that is pushed is that Biden makes more gaffes than other candidates.

Of course, these attacks ignore that Bernie is older than Joe Biden. Moreover, Bernie makes just as many gaffes and mistatements as Biden, but they are ignored or explained away because they just don't fit the narrative. For example, can you imagine what would be running 24/7 if Biden did what Bernie did a day ago:

Yet, you see no mention of this while various threads on Joe's age or gaffes get repeatedly boosted.

I can understand if folks have disagreements with Biden's policies, but it is surprising the degree to which folks rely on attacks that simply repeat the false narrative that Biden is more gaffe prone than any other candidate.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

...Bernie would take a page out of Trump's book and just accuse them of being biased and allege it is all part of some conspiracy designed to target him. Then Bernie would sanctimoniously chastise the media about being overly focused on such nonsense. Thus, the media tends to treat Bernie with kid gloves to over compensate while Bernie continues to try to generate resentment against the media by repeatedly complaining about how he is being unfairly targetted.

So, are you going to see the clip in the OP widely circulated like a Biden confusing a city? No, because if it was, then Bernie would then just use it to push his narrative that he is being unfairly targeted by the Fake News and that it is all part of some wide spread media conspiracy.

Getting damned tired of the ageism though. That isn't to say Bernie has or hasn't gotten a pass. Just that the long slog of a Presidential campaign is going to result in some missteps, miscues, and yes, gaffes, regardless of who they are and how old they are.

The biggest argument was over running as a Democrat. Over and over, Bernie Sanders said he didn’t want to. He’d spent his whole life purposefully outside the Democratic Party. He treasured his status as the longest-serving independent in Congress. Running as a Democrat wasn’t who he was. He didn’t want to do it that way.

His longtime consultant Tad Devine and the rest of the group came down hard: this is never going to have a chance of working unless you get over it. Suck it up, they told him.

I don't post here often but have been a member since little boots was an embarrassment to this country and we were funding Cindy's stand outside his pig farm. At that point, folks here were united in that WE had to get that sorry bastard out of office.

After 2016 and now, this feels like a free-for-all like lions feeding at the den so that we're never going to be united and present a blue front to get the orange shithole out of office.

Have your disagreements - I get that - everyone has their own dog in the fight. However, it feels like the 2016 fight all over again and look where that landed us: with a total asshole who's ruining this country while we fight the petty small shit when there are bigger battles to be won.

I will always vote D and blue, no matter the candidate - but pitting us against each other with petty and trite fights is exactly playing into their hands and for that, I will not stand.

We all need to get OUR shit together and sure, have disagreements, but damn - this tearing apart shit is going WAY too far and I believe we're WAY better than this. With social media and how info can be devined or reported out of many websites, it does US no good in fighting each other and getting into the weeds, so that we appear as an non-unified group of wish-bots, hoping for something better but doing nothing from within, so we look like yet another incohesive group who can't make a damned difference.

Maybe it's me and my wish for something better - but I think we, as DU, are all better than the petty BS garbage that's been displayed lately. Roast me at your will - I'm actually no longer tied to a candidate but committed to working for a blue wave that will be better for this country than some 'one up' video or meme that's not flattering for anyone trying to fight OUR fight.

Just my humble .02
