(8,144 posts)wrestling villain persona, serving Republicans need to divert our outrage to his mondo bizarro antics while they go about prepping 2020 election fraud and next big moveto gut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
All the while as we debate impeachment, Trumps psychological diagnosis, Republicans continue THEIR racist and inhumane policies, giveaways to corporations, and to throw every federal department off-mission, the master plan THEY drew up decades ago so that our tax funded government serves their greed and bias, not the American people.
Biden has the right approach. He is appealing to our better angels, our collective vision of America, the idea still only perfectly realized. But this is a vision many Americans can unite behind, whatever their policy preferences, the idea of a free, fair, just nation for ALL.
If thats an old-fashioned idea, so be it.
Biden makes it clear that Trump opposes American values and common decency. He cuts through the religious hypocrisy supporting the GOP. In finding Trump morally unfit, he indicts the GOP leadership that enables this corrupt and malicious force to lead our nation.
So far, from day one of his launch, Biden has defined the fight for 2020 in the most urgent and radical terms:
a struggle for the soul of America.
Fix the damage, Joe

(10,828 posts)Because this is the essence of Joe Biden's campaign: calling out the cruelty and massive fraud that is Trump pressed against Biden's genuine integrity and compassion. The Know-Nothing vs the skilled statesman. The Man who has no loyalty vs the Man for whom loyalty is a prime virtue.
There's a reason women are leaving the Trump camp in droves. It's not only the blatant sexism but the indifference, the total blindness to human suffering. When you can exact cruelty on children, make excuses for it? You're devoid of heart and soul.
Preach it, Joe!

Trump is a bully, and Joe has been standing up to bullies his entire life, Owens said in an interview. Joes stuttering, I think, is one of the principal reasons a major, major, major reason that he is the good and compassionate and kind man that he is.
About 3 million Americans suffer from the speech impediment of stuttering, marked by involuntary repetition of sounds, syllables or words. According to the National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders, most children outgrow their stutter, but for 25% of them, stuttering is a lifelong challenge.
Biden has overcome the serious stutter of his youth, but remnants of it resurface on occasions such as when he is very tired, he said in a 2016 speech. Experts on stuttering who follow him closely say they have noticed it on several occasions during the campaign, such as an interview on The View when he addressed complaints about his tendency to touch and hug women while campaigning, and an April speech in Pittsburgh launching his campaign, when he struggled with words.
