She's comfortable discussing a wider range of issues such as foreign policy and racial inequality.

(6,133 posts)The both of them are the real deal. I wanted Warren to do well this time, but I guess something is missing with most voters.
I always went with the person who was a wonk over personality. Do you remember Paul Tsongas? I was a fan. The same was with Walter Mondale. Whoever wins the primary vote has my vote, just like always.

(5,801 posts)Transparency is important. Not to mention credibility. Dragging it out for years makes it hard to take him seriously.
Bernie has some pretty lame excuses for some big issues within his campaign

Bernie is a strong guy, he can certainly defend himself. Not sure why you think he is too fragile to stand up to scrutiny, That is not my impression of Senator Sanders at all.

(44,120 posts)He has convictions and he is tough. You seriously underestimate Senator Sanders. He isnt as weak as you imagine. Hes not afraid and can certainly handle comparisons to Warren.
Hes not my first choice this time but I find your doubt in him seriously misplaced.
Dont try to make me the bad guy because you have no faith in Bernies strength and toughness. Thats on you.

This site seems to love to bash Bernie. Especially with the "He's not a Democrat". Bernie is more of a Democrat than some Democrats. Personally, I'm more concerned on their policies/issues as opposed to if they have a "D" next to their name or not.
on a side note, a Warren/Sanders ticket would be awesome!

(2,598 posts)that are important. And any objective analysis puts the democratic party as it stands today closer to Reagan than FDR. Heck I watched part of the '92 debate with Ross Perot and he sounds like the screaming socialist in today's context.

The reason I like Bernie is because of the issues. The vast majority of criticism of him has nothing to do with the issues.

(3,377 posts)Explain ideas in concrete ways--her 50/30/20 family budgeting, for one example. Don't know if she'll be my first choice, but she's up there.
One thing I'm looking for is which Dem will be most organized and relentless in dealing with the shit Cheetolini pulls in 2020, all while being positive and inspiring--the antithesis of Chump.

(6,254 posts)Of March, a political drama with George Clooney as Dem candidate and Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hersch etc. I think the movie was from 2011 and Clooney who is the Democratic presidential candidate gives a speech in which he calls out the Republican Party for their fear mongering by labeling Dems as socialists. I pointed out to my kids, who are sick of hearing me talk about Republicans, that Republicans offer nothing but fear. The same old BS about socialism, immigrants, guns and abortion. It was gratifying to hear somebody else say it, in this case George Clooney.

(11,257 posts)I love her, and even more so since reading her book. Her passion for how regular people continue to get screwed by the financial industry is real and comes through loud and clear. As does her expertise and smarts.
Underneath her school marmish exterior is a core of steel and a real sense of passion and justice. We'd be lucky to have her as the nominee.

(10,721 posts)I like Warren but I don't see her getting very far. She's not very charismatic and I doubt she'll win what is for her a crucial state, New Hampshire. If she were to finish 3rd or 4th (or worse) in New Hampshire, she may drop out.
