Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumJust had a chat with an Iowa Senate candidate who gave me perspective on the Caucus ground games...
Biden, Warren and Buttigieg have the biggest ground operations with a lot of organizers in the field.
Bernie...not so much.

They probably think that voters would be impressed if they are getting federal dollars in their pocket.

(42,862 posts)I wonder if the BS campaign's apathy and perfunctory operations are indicative of their knowledge (or expectation) that the BS campaign is failing.
I'm just saying, even with all the happy-talk and optimism that a campaign is supposed to project publicly, it doesn't really seem to be reasonable to expect them to NOT already know how humiliatingly low the poll numbers are for BS, especially in other key states. So, I'll be that has something to do with it.
I think it's reasonable to assume that with all the campaign in-fighting and firings... they have to be pretty demoralized at this point.

(5,042 posts)His shot was in a small primary as the outsider candidate against an inevitable status quo opponent who wasn't a good campaigner and he fell short. Warren has cornered his fanbase and is energized and likeable.

(31,261 posts)I remember that after Hillary washed Bernie out in the New York and several other primaries on the same day, she went back home afterward. She was leading decently in Indiana and just behind in West Virginia and those primaries were the Tuesday after the group that included the New York primary, she made zero effort in Indiana and if I remember only put up a minor effort in West Virginia a couple days before the vote when it became obvious that Bernie had regained massive momentum. She lost both states and Bernie regained life after the plummeting that he had absorbed the week before
I noticed one thing about Hillary, she tended to be at home when she should have been out on the trail sticking the knife into her opponent. That tendency, IMO, helped Trupm win Florida, Hillary made no effort in around 59 counties where just trimming Trump's margin would have given her Florida.
I hope that our 2020 nominee campaigns differently, that is why I am leaning toward Senator Warren, she is going everywhere to talk to voters. While she would not win red counties against a republican, her putting up an effort in those places will trim the republican's victory margin in those counties and give her a chance at statewide victory, which in the end is all that counts.
