Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumAfter that debate, I'd like to see only 6 moving forward.
Very little will change.
The top tier:
Bernie looked rejuvenated.
Biden handled Syria and son thing.
Warren took all incoming basically unscathed but should rewrite her cost/taxes answer on MFA.
The new second tier:
Harris was fine but no big moment.
Mayor Pete and Klobuchar stood out and deserve to move forward.
The third tier:
With much love and gratitude, I think weve seen enough from:
Castro, Booker, Beto, Yang (all have strengths but this is not their moment).
The fourth tier:
Gabbard and Steyer Should not have been on stage last night.
Neither is Presidential material.

(55 posts)I see the top tier staying in place.
Biden is tired and is still riding Obamas coat tails.
Anderson Cooper put him on the defense immediately with Q re: Hunter and Ukraine.
Warren very strong but I hate the rude way she holds her hand up and keeps talking past her time. I also envision 4 years of her getting very few of her amazing plans to become realities because Corporate America buys senators and congressmen.
Bernie back, full of piss and vinegar, and looking great!
Mayor Pete came to fight. Ive never seen him so fiery! Go Pete! He will be one of ou greatest president when people start to listen to him!
Even though Im a staunch Buttigieg supporter I was so impressed by Klobuchar!
Harris- great talking points but shes sinking in the polls. I just dont think people are warming up to her.
I truly admire Beto and Booker for their passion.
I feel Yang is a one trick pony. Tech and nothing else.
Castro- Im sorry, but I cant remember one thing he said last night.
Gabbard- please join your friend Trey and the Republicans where youll clearly fit in better.
Stayer-you have some points to make. Please dont crowd an already crowded debate stage to make them.

As usual, men seem to be able to get away with so much more. Don't talk to me about WARREN holding up her hands and then tell me SANDERS is full of piss and vinegar and looking great.

...straight up double standard.
I though Sen. Warren was MAGNIFICENT. I think she is a wonderful candidate and would campaign for her if she gets the nomination.

(9,955 posts)... you got the tiers and the basics that I got... Pete and Amy impressed. Bernie looked better than last debate. Joe hangs in... and Elizabeth can stay on top with a revision - which she is smart enough to formulate.

(42,770 posts)and like Beto..but I thought Buttigieg was very insulting to Beto last night. Implying he was only trying to stay relevant. That's bullshit. Say whatever about Beto...he cares 1000% about gun violence. If mayor Pete thinks it's an act shame on him!
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(3,322 posts)You know it will either of those two. (Mark this post. You know this is true) Let the others begin to throw their support to either Warren and or Biden.
Though with that begin said, Kudos to Amy and Pete for a great debate. Either would be an awesome VP!!

(145 posts)This will get some hate -- but I think the only reason Joe Biden remains is his association to President Obama.
I have never really liked Biden as a Presidential candidate -- seen him campaign many times. He is a good Senator and an honest man...was even a strong VP. However, the old school bluster is not attractive to me and Joe has that act down.
Joe made some obvious missteps last night (Capital Gains and Roe v Wade moments) that worry me. I do not care that he has been in the room with all these world leaders -- so has Ivanka....
I want new blood in the Whitehouse and I know that is ageist in many respects -- but I want someone younger and in touch with the changing world.
Mayor Pete is my preference -- but LOVE Sen. Harris and Sen. Klobuchar.
I WILL 100% Support whoever wins the nomination and vote ENTHUSIASTICALLY for Joe Biden if that is the case. I would just rather a different outcome.

(9,116 posts)Boomers crying ageism is qualitatively no different from white men whining about "reverse racism". They're just pissed off about having to give others a seat at the table.
