(17,600 posts)Well, maybe our goals aren't HIS goals.
We need Trump outta there even if our eventual nominee isn't perfect (and yes even if it is Bernie).
BUT !!!!!
We knew how bad Trump was in 2016. Yet this woman Bernie just hired was working against defeating Trump.
There is no sensible and decent human being ON THE FUCKING PLANET that should have been working against electing Hillary, given the only possible alternative result was Trump. Yet now Bernie thinks this person is competent enough to hire for a key role??? Meaning he was okay with TRUMP BEING ELECTED?
W.T.F.
That is what the optics are. You can and probably will argue against it, but this hire makes clear that Bernie is either off the rails, or was actually okay with Trump being elected over Hillary.
I am confident Bernie will not get the nomination, and it will be a more clear rejection this time. I think he either knows that already, or his mind is gone. So what is his real purpose in running?
Sad for me, because I really like many of his policies. I think his heart is in the right place in terms of striving for an economy that works for everyone. But I think his behavior in 2016 and what I see happening now, is counterproductive to actually progressing to those goals.

(45,082 posts)supports or votes for, America's funny that way. Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Who would have ever thought Henry Kissinger would be a mentor to some Democrats.

(16,953 posts)bedfellows. Both ran the opposition campaigns against Hillary, but one for the progressive. How weird that their attacks sounded so similar. Strange.

(42,862 posts)... she had some generic tweet or post about "it doesn't matter who you vote for, as long as you vote" ... but it did matter. This was just another example of post-convention kneecapping of Hillary and subtle undermining of the Democratic party.

(42,862 posts)Thank you! I couldn't quote it from memory... but the message is the same.
"How we vote is not as important as that we voted."
~ Jane Sanders
Even at the final hour (AFTER the primary, AFTER the convention) ... even when it mattered the very most... she was still bitter, resentful, scornful and out for revenge. She couldn't even bring herself to say "Vote for Hillary". Not even a generic "Vote for Democrats".

(5,812 posts)Worked for him, voted for him in the primary and wanted him in the WH beyond and above anyone else. I did not support Hillary in the primary...BUT...election day 2016, she got my vote. There was NO hesitation between going for Hillary over the asshole now in the WH. I did not dislike Hillary -- she just never caught fire with me. Obama was in my blood and I worked my butt off for him. Same for Bernie. I was kinda neutral about Hillary, like at 51% about her, but an easy choice over the tRump. I am in Hillary's age group and supported and worked for Bill like crazy. Loved him and consider him a great president and I liked Hillary as First Lady. She was involved and not just on the arm of POTUS for state affairs.
All but one of my friends were Bernie supporters. We all worked for him. I have to tell you that by far most of them skipped voting for president that year...according to what they said to me. The one who was not a Bernie support was a Republican and she also skipped voting for POTUS in the 2016 election.
I live in a very blue state -- California -- and it was gonna go for Hillary no matter what. So my pals passing the POTUS vote had no effect. But it was a sad year for me to see my beloved Democratic Party eating itself. I am pulling for Kamala, but I love Beto just as much and so on down the line, especially Booker and Mayor Pete! I still love Bernie and I will vote for him if he gets the nomination. But that is true as to anyone who is running.
I just do not wish to see the ugliness of 2016 again and I am going to work my butt off in 2020 for whomever gets the Dem nomination. I have no problem with and like and actually love the entire field of those how have announced and some who I am sure will announce in the near future (Biden).
WE HAVE TO GET THE ORANGE ASSHOLE OUT OF THE WH. WE MUST STAY UNITED TO DO THIS!
