We're talking WAY past the primary and WAY past the convention... and Sirota was STILL working to "kneecap" Hillary.

The primaries were over the run-up was over, and he was LITERALLY doing everything he could to HELP TRUMP to win.

I think that speaks very clearly about his moral compass and tells us a lot about him (and it's not at all flattering.) I think it's fair for anyone to question the judgement and motivation of anyone who would hire him for ANY job.

I think the point many are trying to make, aside from the general vetting of candidates and their staff, is this guy Sirota is already lying about his involvement with Sanders' campaign and he certainly did the Dem party no favors last time. Is that really the kind of person we want working for Bernie?

And no I'm not against BS per se. I just think it's a bad idea to have someone on his team who is willing to lie like this guy has already done. And that certainly does not help BS in the long run.

And it wasn't that he was hired after working for Sanders for three months, it's the fact that he denied it in the midst of an anti-Democratic Party tear. I guess that's one of the reasons those tweets have now been deleted.

So you are saying that this OP was created to NOT try and smear Sanders, or put him in any kind of bad light ie..guilty by association. It was just some random speech writer who contradicted himself. And that was worth making an OP about.

The hair pulling in here is astounding, about any critiquing on the party, and suggestions for how we could win more, after losing (technically) the election, as well as losing the majority of Governorships, and local races for over a decade. Boggles the mind.

Sanders is not being victimized. His tactics are being questioned, and for good reason. The last thing we need now is another Putin-esque war on Democrats. None of the other campaigns are doing this.

39. Sanders Campaign Hires '16 Clinton Staffer Who Dug Up Oppo Research On Him
Wed Mar 20, 2019, 03:46 PM
Mar 2019

Bernie Sanders is preparing for the coming onslaught of attacks by hiring someone who knows the material best. The Vermont senator’s campaign is bringing on a veteran of Hillary Clinton’s research department who helped pull together the former secretary of State’s opposition-research book on Sanders in 2016, according to Democrats familiar with the decision.

Tyson Brody, Clinton’s deputy research director during the last election cycle, will direct Sanders’s research operation, Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir confirmed to Intelligencer on Wednesday. Brody, who worked on Clinton’s self-research as well as the Sanders oppo files last cycle, is the first Democrat to go from Clinton’s camp to Sanders’s 2020 campaign after their bitter primary fight.

“This campaign will comport itself according to the values of Senator Sanders, which means we will not engage in mudslinging or character assassination. That said, one of the reasons we hired Tyson is to prepare this campaign for whatever false accusations and allegations are leveled against us,” Shakir said in a statement. “Most importantly, Tyson’s work on this campaign will help us educate voters about the issues, policies and stances that the Senator has taken over the course of a lifetime fighting for working people.”

LINK:[link:https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/03/bernie-hires-former-hillary-staffer-as-research-chief.html|

... so, it actually appears that some Democrats who worked directly with Hillary and her campaign have absolutely no problems with working for Bernie ...

... and, obviously, he has enough faith in them to depend on them for his success ...

So, the question becomes, does The Atlantic have him on record?

“He was advising beforehand,” Shakir said, explaining that Sirota’s informal work for Sanders goes back months, and was meant to be a trial period to see how the senator, who famously likes to write every word that he says himself, would work with a speechwriter.
