and it generally falls on deaf ears. Right?

On the other hand ... WHO exactly is saying that "it's too expensive" to take care of veterans? Talk about a strawman!

Republicans felt it was out of bounds to interject such a huge sum into the negotiation at such a late stage. They were also annoyed by floor speeches by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. On June 2, Reid said Republicans had blocked a Sanders bill to help the VA meet veterans’ needs back in February because they were worried about “busting the budget.” He saididnheydidn’t worry about that when they sent hundreds of thousands of troops to Iraq on “the credit card of the taxpayers of America” and ran up a $1.5 trillion debt on that war alone. “Republicans ignore the true cost of democracy,” Reid charged. “Republicans focus on the monetary costs only, the dollar bills, because any money going to our veterans is $1 less going to billionaires, corporations and unnecessary tax cuts.”

When American forces returned home after World War II, the country showed its appreciation in many ways.

Today, we treat our brave warriors like cannon fodder.

It's disgraceful.

Perhaps this is part of the reasons that we haven't had a declaration of war since WWII.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
