Rumors abound on Twitter about Catherine Cortez Masto.

Not very well known, but a solid background and life story for VP. Could be an interesting pick.

Coincidence?
I dont think so.
Ralston was talking about the First in the West dinner in Las Vegas last night.
Next, from Politico/CNN's Laura Barron-Lopez:

Vela to me last month: "A Biden-Cortez Masto ticket wins Texas" because she can appeal to "suburban independents & Republican women.

(2,657 posts)I think it is essential that Joe lifts up both women and African Americans. If there were already a ton of women of color in government, then my first pick would be Senator Amy Klobuchar, who I think is great. However, I believe that in this election, we cannot afford to in any way appear to be giving either women or people of color the short shrift. If I were Biden and I won the Presidency, I'd consider offering posts to all of the current Democratic candidates except Bloomberg. I believe that "Stop And Frisk" should basically ban him for life from any Democratic office--besides the fact that he's a billionaire and only a Democrat when convenient--who apparently only offers apologies for political gain rather than out of a sincere belief that he was wrong.

(43,364 posts)along with Schumer, in Senate recruitment for 2020.
13 flippable seats, and only in AZ and CO do we have our strongest candidates running.
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212402712
These are the most glaring misses:
The poor, poor recruiting of most all of the best candidates is one of the biggest stories of 2020 so far. I am going to give up on pulling the people who I think are strongest in ME, IA, (those two states I can be happy with who we have, although Susan Rice would have crushed Collins) TX, and KY. We just have to roll with who we have there now. As sated, AZ and CO now have our best possible, so that leaves:
AK (Begich run!) Most likely to change his mind of these, and he has won a Senate seat before.
MT (Bullock run! or if he is VP, or if he refuses, Schweitzer run!) << it is probably Bullock or bust so a MASSIVE miss. I am so disappointed with Bullock atm. Daines is a weak POS RWNJ.
TN (Tim McGraw (yes, lol, the mega star singer) run!) << huge miss, so disappointed as it is an open seat and McGraw has said for 15 years he will run for Senate when he is 50. Well, he is 52 now.
KS (Sebelius run!)<<< like Bullock in MT, Sebelius is our only real hope to win, barring a landslide. HUGE miss.
NC (Foxx and/or Stein run!) <<< either/or are big misses, this seat is ripe for the taking, hopefully Cal Cunningham reverses his previous fails.
GA (2 seats) (Abrams run! and Yates run! if Abrams is the VP or refuses still (which she will), hopefully we can find another strong candidate from that list above at the link.) Yates is a huge miss.
IF all those above change their minds and run, I can say, with at least 60% or more confidence, we will hit at least 6 flips.
