Congratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!
*New* HarrisX Poll - Biden 30%, Sanders 18%, Warren 15%, Buttigieg 7%, Harris 4%, Bloomberg 3%
https://thehill.com/hilltv/rising/470911-sanders-reclaims-second-place-in-new-pollFormer Vice President Joe Biden still leads the pack with 30 percent support, a 4-point increase compared to his low of 26 percent earlier this month.
No other candidate registered double-digit support, with South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg in a distant fourth place with 7 percent and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) in fifth with 4 percent.
Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who has yet to formally announce his 2020 bid, registered at 3 percent in the latest survey.
The rest of the Democratic field, including businessman Andrew Yang and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), registered at 2 percent or less.
The survey comes ahead of the fifth Democratic presidential primary debate this week in Atlanta.
Wednesday night's MSNBC debate is set to feature 10 candidates: Biden, Warren, Sanders, Harris, Buttigieg, Booker, Yang, billionaire Tom Steyer, as well as Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.).
In order to qualify for the November debate, the candidates had to garner support from at least 165,000 unique donors and register at least 3 percent in four qualifying polls or 5 percent in two early-state polls.
The new Hill-HarrisX poll surveyed 449 registered voters online between Nov. 16 and Nov. 17. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points.

OP
Biden's stance on legalizing pot made a huge dent in his numbers, didn't it?

I can't see how he will recover. Only 12 points ahead? Might as well quit now, before his numbers rise to 40%.

I think that I will just try voting for Biden instead, like the majority of Americans not on Twitter.

Most people aren't breathlessly waiting on news. I'd give it a few days at least.

(1,701 posts)14. Biden's statements on pot are not weird, they are in line with the science.
Epidemiologic and preclinical data suggest that the use of marijuana in adolescence could influence multiple addictive behaviors in adulthood. In rodents exposed to cannabinoids during adolescence, there is decreased reactivity of the dopamine neurons that modulate the brains reward regions.18 The exposure of rodents to cannabis in utero alters the developmental regulation of the mesolimbic dopamine system of affected offspring.19
If reduced dopamine reactivity in the brains reward regions does follow early exposure to marijuana, this effect could help to explain the increased susceptibility to drug abuse and addiction to several drugs later in life, which has been reported in most epidemiologic studies.20
This theory is also consistent with animal models showing that THC can prime the brain for enhanced responses to other drugs.21 Although these findings support the idea that marijuana is a gateway drug, other drugs, such as alcohol and nicotine, can also be categorized as gateway drugs, since they also prime the brain for a heightened response to other drugs.22
However, an alternative explanation is that people who are more susceptible to drug-taking behavior are simply more likely to start with marijuana because of its accessibility and that their subsequent social interactions with other drug users would increase the probability that they would try other drugs.

Mark Penn & Scott Rasmussen. I'm happy enough to accept Morning Consult, but the Harris polls are toys of political players.
