(9,696 posts)I would have very little confidence in him as a POTUS.
Also, he's pro charter schools, which to me makes him disqualified for any gov't position.

(2,061 posts)His quote is spot on.
In the end the political ramifications matter very little to me. Impeachment isn't about the possible positive or negative fallout. It's about something much larger. I have no problem with anyone pointing out that it might not work out for us politically, or all of our contenders. It's not a new discussion.
Typical.
What does that mean?
It's arrogant to assume that all questions one poses are worthy of a direct answer.

(7,006 posts)So you believe Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, every witness that have took there valuable time to provide testimony and others who are now on Witness Protection including their families experiencing the same to tell the truth on a criminal President of the United States -- wasted their time confirming the "POTUS" High Crimes and Misdemeanors PLUS other CRIMES.....
Because its about something much larger?
And it is A-Okay with you that Andrew Yang could not say this disagreement with Impeachment before the actual testimony and literally waited until HOURS after all of the testimony of these brave witnesses ended to say so.
You, it is assumed, are A-Okay with all of the above.

(2,061 posts)Seems like you are talking for both Yang and myself and not doing so in a way that acculturate reflects what we have said.
Speaking for oneself is more difficult and takes more thought but it is the way to go. Making things up while acting to speak for others is a discussion tactic I won't entertain.

(11,998 posts)Watch the clip that is on the CNN page you linked to. Right from the opening question, it says that he supports impeachment (and always has) BUT he does not think it necessarily helps Dems.
He supports it presumably because it is the right thing to do in terms of the country and the Constitution, but (a) he still doesn't think the Senate will remove him, and (b) all the focus on it is not really helpful to the Dems, as it sucks all the air out of the room and prevents them from better getting their positive visions out there.
Nowhere does he say or even imply that he thinks Trump should not be impeached. Everything he says is consistent with his past statements, which Don Lemon sums up in the first 10 seconds of the clip. Nothing he says after that ever contradicts that position.
(And as so often happens on DU, people's replies indicate they believe your assertion and haven't watched the clip, and that's how misinformation gets propagated...)

(2,575 posts)I'm not seeing the subject being whether or not DT should be impeached. It reads to me like he's saying how the focus on impeachment is playing out in the world--and he's blaming the GOP for how they are interpreting it.
His message is more nuanced, I've heard it from a lot of people, and I'm tired of hearing it.
BUT I don't think he's speaking anti-impeachment.
