Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI will absolutely vote for your favorite primary candidate
if he or she becomes the nominee. Absolutely. No question about it.
Will you vote for mine, if he becomes the nominee?
You don't have to answer in this thread, but you will have to answer to yourself. I have given my answer. Please think about yours.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(804 posts)Because he is my candidate too. Of course I will vote blue no matter who, but IMHO our candidate is the only one I feel can win the electoral college and therefore beat the Orange Buffoon.

(12,265 posts)Now, I may not be happy doing it, but I will and I will work just as hard for our nominee as I am for my candidate. I know there are a lot of people here who will not, just like the last time. Big babies, "my candidate was screwed so I will hold my breath until I turn blue before I vote for your candidate".
I pray I am wrong but I don't think so.

(9,895 posts)I am voting straight Democratic ticket and won't spend a millisecond considering anything else.
I invite those who are more concerned with their candidate above party or all else to seek another national party...I wish them luck reaching those other folks...it would make for some lively discussions I'm sure.

(34,169 posts)I can regret a missed opportunity and still vote responsibly.
I can wonder if I should remain a Democrat given our candidate and still vote for Democrat,
Trump must be defeated.

(11,986 posts)I don't think you should assume someone's perspective by what they don't say. I probably don't read at least 75% of the threads here (and usually don't go back to ones I've read unless someone specifically responds to me), so I miss a lot, and wouldn't want anyone to assume anything about a LACK of response from me.

What's the point of asking again?
I doubt there are even a handful of people here who wouldn't
What you SHOULD be worried about is the people who AREN'T on DU - because those are the ones who will doom Biden's chances in the GE.
Can he win without young voters? I don't know.

(21,627 posts)Joe's got a good, progressive record; he's eminently qualified; and is a mensch besides.
Moreover, he polls best against the Orange menace - which sometimes gives me second thoughts about Liz Warren, truth be told (I think she'd beat Trump too, though not by as much).
People hold that 1994 Crime Bill against him - but guess what: it did not cause the wave of incarcerations; may have exacerbated it - but not caused it. That trend mostly took place during the Reagan-Bush years.

(16,373 posts)I always vote for the Democrat and will never vote for a Republican. Unfortunately, I've too often voted for a Democratic nominee who I didn't think had what it would take to win. They all lost despite my vote.

(23,097 posts)I will vote for any person who is chosen to represent the Democratic party and protect the country. If Joe is still competitive, I will vote for him in our late primary. After that I will vote for the Democratic candidate in the general - period the end. I'd even vote for Bloomberg, if he won the most delegates. I certainly do not want to vote for him, no way, but I'd vote for my over-protective dog Finley over drumpf - he's way smarter and has way better morals.
