Compare that with the 37 percent of Biden supporters, 36 percent of Warren supporters, and 30 percent of Buttigieg supporters who said they fully backed their candidate.
With such a base of support and such a large field, Sanders was always going to be a factor of some kind.

(67,782 posts)....and prior to his mediocre performance at the debate last week.
The fact is the only early state where he's leading is in his neighboring state, NH, and that by a razor thin margin. He's far behind in Nevada and close to being off the board in South Carolina.
Of the 155 delegates up for grabs in those four states he'll be lucky to get as many as 40.

Sanders got 40% of Democratic Primary vote in '16, he's running half that this time. Even if he got 100% of Warren's support, he'd still be behind his '16 vote total. Thehill.com
And this
#NEW South Carolina @YouGov Poll:
Biden 40%
Sanders 14%
Buttigieg11%
Warren 10%
Steyer 7%
Gabbard 5%
Yang 3%
Booker/Klobuchar 2%
Delaney/Patrick/Bloomberg 1%
And this
Unlike Monmouth earlier, the new Quinnipiac national Dem poll does have a breakout among black voters:
Biden 51%
Sanders 13%
Warren 12%
Bloomberg 4%
Buttigieg 2%
Klobuchar 2%
Steyer 2%
Yang 2%
Booker 1%
Delaney 1%
Williamson 1%

(145,567 posts)I keep wondering how this revolution works in the real world. In theory, so many new voters well magically appear and these new voters will force the GOP to be reasonable and to adopt sanders' proposals. How many new voters are required to do this? In 2018, the Democrats got 9 million more votes compared to the GOP and so far the GOP has not become more reasonable. Where will these new voters come from? If these new voters exist, why are they not showing up in the polling?

Of course! That is what we would expect. Republicans are grateful to Putin. NOT Democrats.
Media report that Sanders now has an awesome database and a social media operation, better than anyone but Trump's, that completely bypasses the free press to deliver Sanders' campaign messages via many millions of computers directly to his potentially hundreds of millions of targets. And Russia's not being reported on.

At a respective 32% and 21% in this latest tracking poll, the standings of Biden and Sanders are essentially unchanged among Democratic primary voters nationwide since early February.
Buttigieg has risen from virtual obscurity in February to sit at 8% nationally, and while Warren has seen her support fall in recent months, her five-point increase since February places her as a top candidate.....
The negative view is that Sen. Sanders has a high floor for his support, but he also appears to have firm ceiling on how high he can go. Pete Buttigieg has taken away voters who might be looking for a non-Biden option, and Elizabeth Warren has taken voters on the left who in 2016 went to Sanders by default. Buttigieg Warren and are equally well funded and they will be in the primary for the long term. If Sanders doesnt win early, there is a chance that he doesnt win at all.

(3,176 posts)...that's because most people I know see Bernie as the best candidate to tackle the many problems we have with Progressive solutions that work...
...people are fed up with meaningless babble and campaign bullshit that no one believes...people are no longer willing to seek their reward only in the hereafter, they want a new beginning and a fair shake right now...
...only Bernie is prepared and capable of delivering the systemic change we so desperately need...
...people don't want to support a candidate supported by people that screw them...
...no good will ever come of it...
