Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumDemocratic Primaries?..Can Bernie win Iowa? and other primaries?
Can Bernie win the following 3 states in the final election in November 2020?
Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan? How about Ohio?...Yes, I do think that Bernie can win New York and California, but that is not enough for the electoral college. He cannot win Texas or Georgia. Bernie divides people, he does not unify. Can Bernie unify our party to win in Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan? If the answer is no, then if Bernie is the nominee, we are in serious trouble. (and because of Bernie's persona, I do not think he can unify the party)

(15,100 posts)I REALLY hope Bernie is not our nominee. (Tulsi Gabbard as well) I will vote for anyone with the magic D after their name, but I just don't think Bernie will get there.
I do not frequent FB much any more, but I actually unfriended someone who is a screeching Bernie Bro (who posted all the vile Russian BS about Hillary last time around - and he got very angry when I called him on it.) He voted for Jill Stein - and still insists that it was the right thing to do.

(2,461 posts)When you think about the blue wave, you see a surge in younger voters turning out. Bernie has lit a fire under a bunch of younger people's bums. Even if their first choice wasn't Bernie, I believe they would go stand in line for him to cast a ballot.
The registered numbers of Rebpubs and Dems hasn't really changed in decades (two or three points either way) so its going to come down to getting the people who don't regularly vote to get out there.
I don't think its wise to count on the groups of people that will vote Blue no Matter Who.
It's all going to be about convincing the younger generation that their voice matters, and IMO, the best way to approach that is with a strong grassroots approach, and Bernie has this in spades.
Still so early. But I, for one, will be paying close attention to the polls that show age demographics.

(3,259 posts)Sanders and Biden are going to be hurt by their age and records. I dont think this cycle is going to favor the career politicians.
