(146,317 posts)When an organization with 10,000 members nationwide endorses someone, I'm surprised there aren't a dozen posts about it here. Really. I mean...

(146,317 posts)The challenge is to get those college student voters to actually go to the polls and vote. That's a challenge that has so far not been met with much success.
I hope everyone in that age group votes in 2020. We'll see the turnout numbers after the election and see whether they beat the historical low turnout rates, dating back to the 1960s.
I hope their turnout rate exceeds 25% in 2020. We'll see.

(92,204 posts)They also did similar actions against Pelosi.
Funny that they predominately attack Democrats, and seem to leave republicans out of the equation
From my perspective, this endorsement does not help Sanders outside his base, and instead alienates those outside his base against him, and toward other Democratic nominees

(146,317 posts)I mean, do you register in your home town, or in your university town? Where will you be on November 3, and do you have exams that day, or maybe a party?
If your voter registration is in your home town, you have to go to all the trouble to get an absentee ballot, maybe requiring you to send a snail mail request for it by the deadline. Where would you even buy a stamp? If you're registered where you live at school, you have to figure out where your polling place is, and it could be somewhere you've never been, you know.
Yes, it's easier just not to bother to vote. And it doesn't really matter, because other people will go and vote, and your vote doesn't really count for much anyhow. Besides, why can't you vote from your phone on Instagram? Sheesh!

(37,748 posts)actually does anything to increase the influence of that endorsement.
(I get it... his polling and performance has been so anemic lately that even a minor, inconsequential endorsement should be shouted from the mountaintops with as much righteousness as possible, just call it "vetting"
