An immigrant-rights protester whose recent confrontation with former Vice President Joe Biden made headlines was hired this week by rival Bernie Sanders campaign.
Carlos E. Rojas, who previously helped lead Movimiento Cosecha, a left-wing group that advocates for undocumented immigrants, will be a Latinx community organizer in Iowa for Sanders. Rojas hiring prompted criticism among Biden supporters and some independent political analysts, who accused the Sanders campaign of promoting someone who has personally attacked a Democratic rival.

But Sanders supporters celebrated the hiring of Rojas, an experienced activist who previously volunteered on the Obama campaign. Sanders has a history of hiring activists to join his ranks. His deputy press secretary is an undocumented immigrant.
Biden and Sanders are on opposite ends of the political spectrum in the Democratic presidential primary, polling first and second in most surveys. While tensions between their supporters make sense for that reason, theres also some overlap in their constituencies, especially among minority and working-class voters. In a Morning Consult poll released this week, one-third of Biden supporters said their second choice was Sanders, the independent, self-identified socialist senator from Vermont.
The Sanders campaign confirmed Rojas hiring Thursday and said he was not on the payroll when he disrupted a Biden rally in November.
At that event, Rojas drove down to South Carolina from Elizabeth, N.J., with an undocumented woman to challenge Biden on the three million deportations during the Obama administration. Biden initially engaged Rojas in debate, but when the exchange grew tense, Biden cut Rojas off and told him to go vote for Trump.
In March, the Sanders campaign had to defend its hiring of a veteran investigative journalist, David Sirota, as senior adviser and speechwriter. Sirota had been blasting other Democrats on Twitter and in columns at the Guardian prior to his hiring.
The hires prompted critics to recall the fallout of the 2016 Democrartic primary, when Sanders lost the nomination to Hillary Clinton and some of his most fervent supporters exacerbated rifts within the party by continuing aggressive online attacks.
Sanders himself launched his 2020 campaign pledging not to attack, bully, or harass any fellow candidate

"Last Thursday, in a packed college gym in Greenwood, South Carolina, I stood next to Silvia, a local immigrant mother and activist, as she asked Joe Biden a question. I translated for her as she told the crowd about her daily fear of ICE separating her family. Its hard for her to trust Biden, she explained, because he has defended the millions of deportations that took place when he was vice president. Under a Biden administration, could her partner or children be next?
Silvia asked if Biden would use executive action to protect undocumented immigrants from deportation on his first day in office. Biden bluntly said no and went on to defend Obamas record on immigration. As a longtime activist, a 2008 volunteer for the Obama campaign, and a formerly undocumented immigrant myself, I pushed back and reminded him that millions of families were separated while he was vice president.
Thats when Biden interrupted me and said: You should vote for Trump."
Press Reliese from Movimiento Cosecha:
IMMIGRANT FAMILIES SEPARATED DURING THE OBAMA YEARS TO OCCUPY BIDENS CAMPAIGN OFFICES
Families are calling for Biden to apologize for the 3 million family separations he oversaw while in the White House, and commit to using his executive authority to end all detention and deportation on day one, if elected President. They will be joined by allies who will be sitting in at Bidens campaign offices, refusing to leave until the campaign speaks with the families.
Philadelphia- Immigrant families whose loved ones were among the 3,000,000 deported while Former Vice President Biden was in the White House plan sit in at Biden campaign headquarters in Philadelphia on Wednesday. They are demanding Biden to apologize for separating their families, and commit that, if elected president in 2020, he would use his executive authority to put an immediate end to all immigrant detention and deportations. Families are also calling for Biden to commit to bringing home loved ones that were unjustly deported by the last two administrations.

You, if I am reading this correctly, see it somehow insulting that sanders would hire an immigration activist who dared to question Biden.
Putting aside whether Biden's history and current position on immigration doesn't' deserve criticism, think about how that sounds to someone, not in the Biden camp?
No one, not even Biden is entitled to anyone vote. No one, neither Sanders nor Biden, not anyone is entitled to never be questioned.
