Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumSome are implying a hypocrtical position from Biden supporters complaining about Sanders' "elitist"
comments toward Elizabeth Warren
During the primary season there is usually a cause and effect.
Biden's comments toward Elizabeth Warren did not happen in a vacuum. It happened after Warren's swipe that Biden is running in the wrong presidential primary and repeating Republican talking points with his criticism of her Medicare for All plan.
According to the article below, while he did not name her directly, he implied he was referring to her, and didn't directly call her "elitist", but said she employed a condescending approach to politics that smacks of elitism.

I know you think you were putting the events in context because you are an honorable poster, however the attacks on Warren were building well before she responded.

I have no interest in starting threads to attack the candidates, many of who I have long respected for the most part, but, I definitely wont let attacks on my preferred candidate go without a response.
Fair is fair.

(113,065 posts)He attacked her before she released her plan and after she released her plan, and he did use the GOP standard line of attack they cart out for every proposal that benefits most Americans.
Nov1:
Joe Bidens presidential campaign is slamming Democratic rival Elizabeth Warrens plan to pay for Medicare for All accusing the Massachusetts senator of misleading voters on its costs.
Warren released her proposal to fund the government-run health care system Friday morning, saying she would do so without raising taxes one penny on middle class families attempting to answer a the question of how shed pay for Medicare for All thats dogged her for months on the campaign trail and in debates.
Biden Deputy Campaign Manager Kate Bedingfield was quick to hit back at Warrens plan, saying, For months, Elizabeth Warren has refused to say if her health care plan would raise taxes on the middle class, and now we know why: because it does. Senator Warren would place a new tax of nearly $9 trillion that will fall on American workers.
Bedingfield also called Warrens plan unrealistic saying it hedges on a complete revamping of defense, immigration, and overall tax policy that leaves her with two choices, to further increase taxes on the middle class or break her commitment to these promised benefits......

Biden Attacks Warren: "She's Going to Raise People's Taxes
Joe Biden slammed Elizabeth Warren for dodging the middle class tax question and said that her Medicare for All plan would raise taxes.
"Its going to cost a lot of money and she's going to raise people's taxes doing it," Biden said during a town hall in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday.
Responding to Biden, Warren dodged the question again and told a CNN reporter that "Giant corporations are going to see their costs go up. But costs, for middle class families, for working-class families, for the people that are squeezed so badly, are going to go down."

Biden camp DID use GOP talking point to scare people away from Med4All. Grover Norquist applauded him for it.
Warrens response to Bidens attack didnt happen in a vacuum. But, that fact never gets acknowledged.

4 MIN READ
COLUMBUS, Ohio (Reuters) - Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden questioned surging rival Elizabeth Warrens credibility on Wednesday, accusing her of failing to be open with voters about how she would pay for her ambitious Medicare for All healthcare proposal.
.....
Biden said it was absolutely ridiculous that Warren would not delve into the details of her healthcare proposal, drawing a comparison to Trump.
The last thing the Democrats should be doing is playing Trumps game and trying to con the American people to think this is easy. Theres nothing easy about it, he said.
