WMUR-TVCarville, nicknamed the Ragin Cajun for his outspoken, mince-no-words style, will campaign with Bennet in the Granite State ahead of the Feb. 11 first-in-the-nation primary, the Bennet campaign said in releasing the endorsement exclusively to WMUR.
Carville has been praising Bennet in public comments for several months.
This is John Kennedy recloned, Carville said last summer. You cant get any better than this guy.

(2,657 posts)I figure that Carville bringing up John Kennedy is appropriate, because Bennet has about as much chance of winning as John Kennedy's corpse.

(21 posts)You're right I guess, no chance. But a better choice than most, including Biden. I mean, on a debate stage with Drumpf, what are the chinks in Bennet's armor, what are his downsides? https://michaelbennet.com/realdeal/

(2,657 posts)It is just that as a moderate, he had Biden, Harris, and Klobuchar blocking his path. Biden was VP with solid African American support, and Harris and Klobuchar are women in a year that the Democratic Party would really like to have a woman as a nominee. Those things kind of outranked what Bennet provided. If we did not have Biden running, and the party did not want so much to have a woman nominee, yeah, Bennet would be a great choice. In 2020, however, you need to be more than just a good candidate.

(2,657 posts)and the way that he won the 1992 primary was by sweeping the South. Carter won the South. Gore won the South. Obama won the South. Hillary won the South. The easiest way to both win the Democratic nomination, and then go on to win the populate vote in the General Election, at least for your first term, is to win the South. As for overcoming the Electoral College in the General Election, that is another matter.
You might also notice that Joe Biden is strongest in the South, and that his national polling has been at the top for nine months. That is not a coincidence. This is the Democratic Southern Strategy.
