Sanders taunts Jamie Dimon again

Dimon said socialism would be a disaster for the country and said capitalism needs to be modified to better serve society. He repeated the points Wednesday in a CNBC interview in which he declined to talk about individual candidates. The Vermont lawmaker, a 2020 presidential contender who calls himself a socialist, shot back.

“That’s funny. Jamie Dimon seemed fine with corporate socialism when his bank got a $416 billion bailout from American taxpayers,” he wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

Dimon has previously said JPMorgan, which expanded during the crisis by acquiring collapsing rivals, didn’t need a bailout to survive. In 2012, he told the Senate his firm temporarily accepted $25 billion from a Treasury Department program because “we were asked to” so weaker rivals could tap it without being singled out.

Saying "everybody else was doing it" is still Socialism for the Rich, Rugged Individualism for everybody else.

Explain to me how giving free college to one at $26,000 a year, going to an out of state school and getting a degree in 17th century poetry will get the government that $ back. It won’t.

The TARP investment made money. Bailouts suck. But the point is to make the investment back and it did so.

We are doing it right now. Just like TARP.

Please explain to me how investing $26,000 a year for someone to go to an out of state school for a degree in 17th century French poetry will get the government its $ (investment) back.

You know there are many non-economic degrees. Explain how spending $100k on a non-economic degree gets the investment back for the government.

TARP made $. You can hate it, but it’s true.

Will the person getting a poetry or non-economic degree repay that $100k....I think you and I both know the answer.

I’ll try one last time.

It’s real simple. What is the degree, and what job can the holder of the degree get.

FORGET teachers. That is a special case, and all teachers should be provided subsidized loans and/or forgiveness.

Please take my one example and simply answer the question. Will someone with a poetry degree ever repay the $100k investment?

The answer is admittedly no...

A link to a poetry major who admitted it. It’s Sad that you won’t.

Because THIS is why the plan is a nonstarter. If you wont acknowledge truth and economic facts, you will never sell Democrats on the plan, let alone the country.

Either way, I’ve tried to have an honest discussion.

Your candidate will never sell free college to America unless she can answer tough questions honestly.

... a million dollars in increased wages over a lifetime. Now do the math on increased tax revenues and spending/gdp. Not to mention less reliance on public aid.

People need to stop thinking about an economy as they do their personal balance sheet.

My experience has been people who complain about obscure degrees never set foot on a college campus.

Is not an answer. Please look at post # 16, where a poetry major admits it.

Let’s have an honest discussion based on facts. There is no economic repayment by this person of a 100k investment in a poetry degree.

Unlike TARP. Which made a profit.

Nobody is calling it "free college."
It's $26,000 a year because colleges suck, are bloated at the top, and mismanage a lot of shit. That needs to stop.
What's wrong with out of state schooling?
And, really, why do you have to shit on English majors as the poster child for people that will never do anything in their life. Fuck.
