"Older Voters " like it's a dirty word

Maybe it’s time to listen to the people who have years of accumulated memory and wisdom.

Baby Boomers took to the streets against Vietnam

They remember life when there was dignity in our leaders and traditions,

They knew and acted when there was a bad President - Nixon

Perhaps in this crazy time with this horror in office, we should listen when they say we need the antithesis of trump as
our leader. Coupled with a youthful, energetic and optimistic VP! (Just like one of their grandkids)

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

a majority population these days?

After reviewing info from Pew research https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/essay/an-early-look-at-the-2020-electorate/

It appears that Boomers are 28% (down from 40% in 2000) of the voting population while GenXers are now around 25% and Millennials are around 27%.

Only the Millennials are showing about the same amount as in 2016 while the other two groups are showing a slight decline from 2016.

Boomers, still largest voting group, though probably not for long..?

typical results this time around. I, too, think it has to do with age and experience vs. hopes without the history to guide one's aspirations.

Those of us who have seen bad presidents from Nixon onward have a whole lot of lived experience to guide our voting preferences. I want progress but I'm not willing to throw out the things that have made this country livable to force an uncertain change that could doom all life on the planet.

Going to a rally is easy and fun. Registering, and voting, takes a wee bit of work.

I fear that our younger Democrats need to "fall in love," as is said. We don't do a good enough job of educating them as to their civic duty and right.

It's not that hard. My youngest, who is 22, was apathetic and blah, blah, not going to vote when he was heading toward 18. I give all the credit in the world to our county supervisor of elections, who goes to all the high schools and talks to students about voting. She can pre-register them. After her presentation, my kid registered to vote and voted for Hillary in 2016.

The Supervisor of Elections is the only Republican I've ever voted for. She is wonderful. Retiring this year in my very red county. I hope her replacement is as dedicated to turning out the vote and fair elections as she has been.

While I deeply appreciate the wisdom you bring, I think the younger generation is using the wisdom you have presented and are broadening it’s horizons. We are simply expanding the idea of what is reasonable for the people.

I’m sure you know Burnie’s platform so you know that liberal is how the younger people feel. Isn’t it a good thing we want these things for the country?

Also: I love Pete, he is still my main man. Just know I prefered Burnie in 2016.

Hell, I remember us not being able to eat at a restaurant in northern lower Michigan when I was a little kid because my mom was "a dirty Indian." That was my first exposure to injustice and inequality. I marched for equal rights and other causes that younger folks take for granted. We may be old, but we're not dead.
