(4,352 posts)I'm hoping for a number of surprises in Joe's favor. If so, it's the reason why Bernie, after the South Carolina results, appeared to be so dazed Saturday night in Virginia Beach. He knows what's coming!

(40,209 posts)The administrators switched people who had Pete as their choice to undecided so I chose Joe.
I hope he gets most of Petes votes. That could make all the difference.

(111,255 posts)He was pretty much co president in the Obama White House. He's a technocrat who knows how things work in government. He's a workaholic and didn't get into office to get rich quick, he's often cited as the poorest guy in the Senate. Plus, people find him trustworthy.
Negatives have to do with his cozy relationship with the banks, something he GOP is not going to attack him on lest their own oxen be gored. He's been out of the Senate for nearly 11 years, so even that might have fallen by the wayside. And I don't think stuffing his foot in his mouth from time to time is much of a negative, many people will find it endearing in a favorite older relative way.
While he's not my first choice in the primary, I'll have no trouble voting for him in the general. He's far more small "c" conservative than I am, but so is Karl Marx.

(51,590 posts)after Pete suspended his campaign and Bernie is still in the lead in CA. However, my wise father told me before he died that polls are BS and don't put much stock in them. My dad is/was usually right.
It seemed to me like the tide shifted tonight and a lot of people have publicly been throwing their support behind Biden. I heard on the news that the state is surprised by how few mail in ballots they have received for the Tues primary. People are waiting until Tues to decide so that is in Joe's favor.

(8,678 posts)Also it appears a significant part of the polling was done before SC results were announced. Even so the numbers are not bad for Biden. I suspect Joe is going to do just fine in CA. No blowout delegate gain for Sanders as he was hoping.

(8,042 posts)Most of us wanted to wait to see what was going to happen in South Carolina. A couple of folks made the mistake of voting early but mostly we waited for yesterday's results.
We are now in for Joe (regardless of who we may have originally been behind). I'm taking Tuesday off and going to the poll first thing in the morning. Then two of my best friends and I (one's retired and the other is taking the day off as well) are going to spend the day and evening together to watch the numbers as they come in. It'll be quite nerve wracking, of course, because of the Bernie factor.
Even some of my most idealistic friends realize that we HAVE to get the Psychopath out of there and are going to vote for Joe. And for a while there, we were thinking we may have to vote for Bloomberg which was REALLY hard to wrap our heads around but we'd have done it!! I think some are relieved and comparatively speaking, Joe's a frickin' lefty (compared to Bloomberg)!
I know for sure that one friend's sister (who's a Republican) is definitely going to vote for Joe in the Primary and the General Election. Another friend's Mom said she'll vote for Joe if it's between him and dt but will vote for dt if it's between him and Bernie because "BERNIE SANDERS IS A SOCIALIST!!" (Her mom's words and reactions - not my friends). So....there you have it....
