Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumNow on MSNBC with Ari: I don't care what Michael Moore has to say.
He is on now talking to Ari on MSNBC trashing Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar for leaving the race and supporting Biden. He sounds very immature as he is whining about....politics. It's POLIITCS Michael.
He sounds bitter and angry and is accusing Pete and Amy of taking away peoples' right to vote for them in vain!
My heart broke yesterday and I cried watching Pete give his speech. I will always love him. But I believe he did the right thing. And Amy too.

(1,165 posts)It is pretty unprecedented to drop out the day BEFORE a primary.
Also, this was pretty much the reasoning cited around here last night, that Pete was falling on his sword for the party. A quick googling reveals articles in the Dallas Morning News, New York Times and the Hill saying similar things.
You just said bernie would cost us the house. That sounds like something to be afraid of to me.

(43,340 posts)viscous commmmmmmmmmmmmmmmie!! red baiting entire programmes, all with Sanders at the epicentre and listing all the Blue Flips in the House as commie traitors as well. (which is LAUGHABLE, but that is how it would and still may will go)

Hell, they will go back to the accusations of plagiarism that drove him from the 1988 run.
And Burisma, that's part of the grand conspiracy don't you know. None of these candidates is without baggage. Biden is not holier than Bernie.

(43,340 posts)I was Pete from the start, I was the first OP in the Pete group. I worked my little brown arse off for him in RL here in the EU and UK with my fairly large network of expats. Biden was far down my list, but he is the best, electorally-wise, of those who are left, warts and all. I am at heart a ruthlessly practical young woman (with some exceptions, I am not a completely stoic, taciturn rock), and practicality dictates GO JOE, at least for me.

Rob Reiner said this tonight according to this OP..
He brought up the 2000 election and Nader supporters saying Bush and Gore were the same. But if Gore had won then no Iraq war and a 20 year jump on climate change.

That's Trumpian bullshit. And you know, we've all had it with these folks disparaging the Democratic Party. It's us. All of us. Join up. You're invited.

(383 posts)Candidates dropping out along the way is exactly the way the primary process is supposed to work. It's an open way of letting the voters decide the outcome.

That is fabulous. Great. These are NOT "establishment" candidates. Pete came from nowhere. Beto skyrocketed after losing by not much to Cruz. I'm not found of Amy because of reports of her being abusive to staff and her validating those reports by refusing to shake Pete's hand after the next to last debate.

(2,412 posts)The News Media has been very friendly to moderate democrats and has been celebrating the Biden surge most all the time. I see nothing wrong with a short telephone interview with Michelle Moore who supports Sanders. Sanders has been able to gather large numbers of voters. They have a right to some coverage.
I wish the News Media had been more supportive of Warren. I so want her to stay in the race and be the candidate or the VP. We need her in the government! Secretary of the Treasury?

I'm sick of this. Who doesn't know that health care for all Americans is the signature Democratic issue? What won the mid-terms? Health care. Health care. Which party has been trying to pass a Medicare for All plan for decades?
